We arrived early because we got the train from Helsinki and got the hotel exhausted, a few hours before check in. The staff very kindly made us complementary breakfast (not included in our stay package) and made up a room quickly for us. It was a godsend! Had a quick nap and then hit the town. We came back later and had a few issues with the shower water pressure and the lovely Alina (one of the girls who worked there) upgraded our room without delay and then spent the next 20 minutes sorting out the DVD player in the room. She was excellent at handling the small hiccups that the come with a slightly shambolic establishment.
It's got a lot of charm this little spot and is excellently positioned to work to some of the sights and along the canals and to some great little restaurants. Its not a 5 star kind of place but they'll do their damndest to make you happy and got charm.

High ceilings, big windows, clean and nice bathrooms, ticks the boxes.

I've just returned from staying at this lovely apartment hotel. I was there with my 11 yr-old daughter for 4 nights. We stayed in the hugely spacious Rossi room which overlooked the street, but not at all noisy. The room was warm and cosy, with Wi-Fi, TV and DVD. There are a selection of DVDs to watch to suit all tastes. Because it is a private hotel, there is a buzzer access from street level to the apartment, then a flight of stone steps to reach the main entrance door. Once checked in however you have your own swipe key to provide access to the building at any time. We received a warm welcome from Tanya who immediately offered us refreshments and snacks - this was on offer any time of day every day. Because the hotel has only a handful of rooms, there are only a few members of staff and you get to know them as friends very quickly. They speak excellent English, so much so that I didn't use the few Russian words I had learned at all (sorry about that ladies!). They are always on hand to recommend or book restaurants, shows, etc. The location is very central - you can walk to all the main sites. A huge thankyou to Tanya, Svetlana, and Ileena for making us feel at home.

This boutique hotel is a true jewel! It is very authentic with lots of old St Petersburg charm & grandueur! The staff is 5 star - eager to serve you a cup of coffee/tea anytime of the day, plan your next excursion or make a dinner resevation! Just like having your own personal butler! The location is amazing.... tucked away but in walking distance of all major attractions (and just around the corner from other fancy hotels.) If you are looking for ritzy & glitzy - this may not be the place for you. But if you are looking for a special Russian experience- make no hesitation! Still thinking about my wonderful trip to St Petersburg & Casa Leto!

Our first contact through email was quick, orderly and very informative. We booked with no problem using a letter of authorization for our credit card charge as well as confirming that they would take care of of our Visa invitations for 700 RUR per person. When we arrived, we were somewhat thrown off because the building is undergoing renovation so the front door was not as expected and the entry stairs had not been renovated. There is no lift or elevator to the small hotel but the staff would gladly help you with the luggage. On the second floor however we were met by the most gracious staff, offered drinks, and shown our nice size rooms. We were in Quarenghi, a very nice room with a large bath. It is located on the courtyard side of the building and at the time that side of the building was being renovated. We were never there during the daytime so were never bothered by any noise from the renovation. I believe the names of the rooms are all of Italian architects from the 18th and 19th centuries that built many of the palaces in St. Petersburg. The breakfasts were very nice and casually served which we enjoyed - everything from granola, to yogurt, fruit and hot breakfast cooked to order. The staff was very attentive and enjoyed hearing of our adventures. This is a very small hotel and is not prepared for room service - it could be considered more like a very nice bed and Breakfast type accomodation. Another big plus is location, location, location. Very central and an easy walk to many sights. I would recommend to those who don't need a large hotel, restaurant, business center but desire a personal interaction with wonderful staff. Thank you all - we loved St. Petersburg.

Room Tip: Quarenghi is on the courtyard side but Rastrelli looked nice too though on the street side. Actually...

Having long wanted to travel to St. Petersburg, we were lucky enough to spend a week in the Rinaldi Suite during White Nights this year.I can sum it all up by saying we would do everything all again, exactly the same, if we were going back-and I think that's probably the ultimate compliment! You couldn't ask for better service-Daria is a treasure, the bed was very comfy, the bathroom spacious with lovely toiletries, the blackout curtains worked (important in June), the breakfast cooked to order was varied and set you up for the day, cups of tea are on offer at any time, and we had the opportunity to chat with like-minded travellers.
It is an amazing experience to step out of your hotel, walk for 5 minutes, and see St Isaacs, then a few more minutes to The Bronze Horseman, the banks of the Neva, the Winter Palace, Church on Spilt Blood, Nevsky Prospekt-all within walking distance. And so much more.....
Plenty of eateries close by-don't miss Teplo for fantastic food 5 minutes from your door.
I cannot rate this overall experience highly enough, and have filled many photo albums with this journey.

Casa Leto:

1) was in walking distance to all the sites we wanted to see
2) has a friendly helpful staff
3) includes a comfortable and pretty room and bathroom (Rastrelli)
4) was easy to find and close to walk to after we were dropped off from the St. Peter line in front of St. Isaacs and picked up there 3 days later for the return to the ferry

Daria, the manager, provided us a bottle of champagne when learning we had just been married. My husband and I drank it that evening while talking with Svetlana, who was working the late shift. Daria, thank you for that lovely gesture. We also thank you for arranging to get our tickets to the Heritage on-line, allowing us to go to the front door immediately without having to stand in an endless line.

We live in Europe, so we don't eat a big breakfast. The blini pancakes with the dab of sour cream and wonderful jams full of whole fruit were terrific, and filling. My husband said the scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. We usually eat a croissant and muesli with yogurt, and that was also provided. This breakfast lasted us all day until the evening meal, enabling us to see as much as possible on our 3 day visa free visit.

The building itself was historic. We'd seen formerly grand entrances to a series of palatial flats that have since been in need of refurbishing before, particularly in Barcelona. The stair steps to the Casa Leto are shallow, as in palaces in parts of Europe, to allow owners/visitors in the 1800s to glide up and down them easily with their heavy flouncy dresses, making for a regal floating impression. Today it helps when carrying suitcases.

There are grander hotels in the area (Astoria to name but one), but we prefer a less formal and more personal touch. I highly recommend the Casa Leto. We personally prefer to provide business to families with new ideas rather than corporate entities with their predictable offerings.

Room Tip: If your a light sleeper, I would go for a courtyard view, though that area is being renovated, so it...

It 'was a big surprise for us after seeing the main entrance and the staircase, we must admit!
We found ourselves inside a beautiful apartment. Tastefully decorated all the rooms and the bathroom with underfloor heating. Cuddled any time by the staff at any time to return was available to prepare us a cup of tea or coffee with biscuits and fruit.
Recommended is the MUST!

Room Tip: Quarenghi room overlooking the inner courtyard, that is not who knows what, but it's quiet and w...
