If you're a fan or a casual visitor, you'll come out full of emotion, as the museum relives the history of the first half of the 20th century, it's fascinating!

“What happened to Writers and Artists during the Soviet regime”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Anna Akhmatova can be seen many place in St. Petersburg. Two places not to miss are the Museum at Fountain House and her statue across the Neva from Kresty Prison. To maintain ones' sanity and write such poetry is to be honored.

“Not sure I understood”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

Wasn´t very impressed as it is not on the same level as some of the other highly rated places of the city.

“Very sad.”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

This is where one of the greatest russian poets of the 20th century dwelled. Regardless of how well it's kept (not sure if all too well) it will give visitors a good and ,for those not entirely innocent of russian turbulent history, somewhat sad account of a genuine poet's place in the russian society of the time.

“An enchanting character sketch that reveals the culture of the era”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

Informative, entertaining, touching, clear, and enlightening about the woman, her works, and her time. Definitely get the English audio guide, get past the boring sounding voice, and indulge in the intriguing story of Akhmatova's life in these very rooms. She survived the Blockade with other interesting people you'll learn about here. The excerpts from her poetry are translated into remarkably evocative lines, and photos and artifacts from her life are displayed and described artfully. A great stop for an interesting peek into a vibrant character of St. Petersburg's modern history.
