As part of a P & O cruise, we stopped at St. Petersburg for two days. It was magnificent. Unfortunately without a personal visa you could only go on the trips organised by the ship but we crammed in as much as possible. The Peterhof Palace with the beautiful gardens, and a hydrofoil trip back to the centre of St. Petersburg. We went to the Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum, we only managed one hour in there and hardly skimmed the surface. You need at least half a day, a full day even better. The wealth and opulence is amazing. It was definitely the high light of our Baltic cruise. Not ideal for people with disabilities. Lots of walking
