This hotel is located just steps from the Hermitage on the Canal. It is a beautiful hotel but was remodeled 10 years ago and needs to be updated. The rooms were adequate but poorly furnished. We had no place for our belongings; no dresser or dressing area. We had to speak to the management three times to get a comfortable room. Not up to its 5 star rating.

Excellent location - hard to beat if you want to walk main attractions. Room ok size with open outlook - all very functional. Great rooftop bar and restaurant. Conceirge very attentive attentive and booked us a great restaurant just out of town on Swan lake. Good breakfast - bathrooms a little dated with shower over bath.

Luxury hotel with a cozy hall and nice bar, friendly staff, comfortable room and bath, but the view from the rooftop is amazing! I dreamt about this view and the dream came true! Coffee was good there as well!
Happy to come back:-)) location is perfect

I stayed on the 4th floor in a room overlooking the atrium. The room was far too hot at night. Ambient temperature was 22-24c despite air con (which was too loud to be left switched on and no option to cool the room without the noisy fan). There is a French window and balcony to the room but it's communal so opening it wasn't really an option for security purposes.

The bedding was ridiculous. Again more suited to a Siberian winter. Even the lightest duvet on the room comfort menu must have been at least a 10 tog. So do not expect a restful or comfortable night's sleep.

The room was ok. Telephone didn't work, lights were on a strange system so if you switched off the bathroom light you couldn't then operate anything other than the bedside lamps.

Breakfast was good apart from slow service for hot items. A good choice of items and stocks replenished quickly.

Prices in the bars and restaurant (including room service) were high. Expect to pay 500+ roubles for just a cup of tea. No tea and coffee facilities in rooms I'm afraid.

Overall, nice location, looked promising but ultimately a disappointing experience and not deserving of a 5-star rating.

This hotel is around the corner from the Heritage and not far from any of the attractions in the historic heart of the city. The staff were attentive and always pleasant and the breakfast buffet was extensive. The room was well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay.
