As noted by others great location so close to the Hermitage and the main street in a pleasant and quiet location on a canal.

We were very happy with the customer service and impressed when they rang us on our last night noting we were leaving early the next morning so they could advise on breakfast arrangements as the breakfast room would not be open. Another plus with services offered is having the ATMs in the foyer - just makes it so easy to get cash in a safe location.

Food wise we had breakfast and dinner on level 9. Breakfast was pretty good - the fresh orange juice great. Dinner on level 9 with views over the roof tops to the Hermitage great for atmosphere and views, food ok but as with the rest of Russia very expensive wine.

Our room was small but quality and from a female perspective - poor lighting in the bathroom and a weak hairdryer could be improved. We were close to the lift well which was not a problem until a conference arrived on our last night and they would all congregate outside the lift deciding where to go next for their drinks - not exactly quiet for us - see room tip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from common areas such as near lift wells to avoid problems when groups are at the hotel and congregate making noise while deciding what to do next.

I stayed at this beautiful hotel for three nights. The location of the hotel couldnt be any better. It´s literally about 5 minute walk to the Hermitage aka the Winterpalace as well as there is a 5 minute walk to the main street Nevsky Prospect. Hotel has a wonderful ambience and it´s intimate and you wont get a crowdy or busy feeling about it. The decor has a certain marine touch and you could almost get the feeling that you are on board a luxurious ship.

Breakfast was a real nice surprise with a wonderful buffé of fruits and fresh squeezed juices upon requests. They also have a small menu if you prefer to have omelettes, pancakes and so on and the perks of having it made on request is obvious-you will get it fresh and straight from the pan! On the 8th floor is a small relaxation centre located. They have sauna, jacuzzi and a mini gym. They offer a small table of refreshments such as coffee, tea, juice and some fruit. Free of charge.

Roomservice menu was really good and I can really recommend the Moika 22 Burger which was excellent!

I used the car service that the hotel has and the drivers are friendly, english speaking and will take you to your destination safely and convenient even If its a little pricey.
Overall the the staff is really helpful and friendly!

The reason why Its rated as very good and not excellent is that my room was really noisy and I had problem to sleep at one evening. I even called reception to complain about the noise but it did not improve after that either. My room was facing the inside of the hotel and there was a window overlooking a conference hall. After they had some kind of event there they where cleaning up dragging chairs on floor which made a terrible sound due to echos and this was at 23.30 at night and lasted for about one hour. I would have preferred the noise from a busy street instead of this.

Pricerange of this hotel is really high but there is good deals to be made and It is a great way to spend your time in this beautiful city!

Enjoy!!

Dear AnnaK3,

We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and we value every comment that our guests leave on TripAdvisor. It was a great pleasure to learn that you enjoyed your time at the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 and that almost everything was to your satisfaction.
I am disappointed to learn about the late hour noise coming from the Atrium. Quality of sleep of our guests is very important to us. I have immediately addressed this issue to the appropriate department.

We hope that you choose the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 once again for your next trip to St. Petersburg.

Sincerely,
Simon Zaglmann

As many have noted in prior reviews this is really a great hotel. Location is excellent being within a block or two of the The Winter Palace, Nevsky Prospekt, the Hydrofoil to Peterhof and so much more. The hotel is typical Kempinski ---- that is wonderful. The staff was superb and rooms and facilities were impeccable. What more could you ask for. Next time we are in St. Petersburg we will again stay at the Kempinski Hotel Moika.

This was a great hotel. Staff could not have been more helpful. It is the shortest walk to The Hermitage and close to most sights. Breakfast was lovely. We preferred to wait for the light and airy main room rather the overflow room but it was the high season. The terrace is the best place for a drink and view over St Petersburg. As with most up market place it isn't cheap but in this case it was really good.

Room Tip: I suspect they are all good but one looking into the atrium may be brighter than those at the back

Dear Diggerdave,

We appreciate your comment and pleased to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast at the Beau Rivage restaurant, as well as the amazing location of the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22.
The top floor Bellevue Brasserie restaurant, whose summer terrace you enjoyed, has just presented a new menu thoughtfully created by our French chef Christope Laplaza. The menu features various fine french cuisine dishes as well as traditional Russian dishes.
We hope that you choose the Kempinski Hotel Moika 22 once again for your next trip to St. Petersburg and try our new menu at the Bellevue Brasserie.

Sincerely,
Simon Z.
