We were told go into the supermarket, this is no supermarket i have ever been into. It is decadent and some many delicious things and the pianos places, there are musicians on the balcony and lots of people milling looking. A large date palm in tthe middle of the room. This is a rare find

Best place in town to buy delicatessens. Caviar, French cheese and very high-quality patisserie are only a few things you'll see. Totally worth a visit, prices are high but are worthy.

The impressive art nouveau decoration brings you back to the days of the tsars. You can drink your coffee, eat a sweet or do your shopping hearing the melodies played by a pianist. I think it is a must for everyone who visits St. Petersburgh

The restoration of Yeliseev's Food Hall was completed a few years ago.
Unique building easy to recognize. You will pass by it when walking on Nevsky Prospect.
Serves delicacies on the ground floor. Restaurant in the basement.
You will be amazed by the architecture and temted by all the good food, wine and delicious cakes on offer.
Real place to be for gourmands.

This food hall is definitely a must see - and I'd venture to say a must eat - when visiting St. Petersburg. It was too rainy to sit at the cafe tables outside, but we ventured downstairs and had an excellent lunch, starting with caviar and vodka and ending with delicious desserts. I do not speak Russian but they had an English language menu and the service was very good and accommodating. The bread was delicious, as was our food, including soup in a bread bowl that tasted very authentic.
