Good choice of English guidebooks for the city and there was a good DVD which covered most of the principal sights in the city and the surrounding area such as Peterhof. Had a good selection of the famous Russian dolls in their souvenir section. Not cheap for the quality ones for sure but they hold their own for value when compared with other stores. I would make this an early visit.

The beautiful building was originally designed to house the famous Singer Sewing Machine Company. After the revolution, the building became a book store and so it remains today. It offers thousands of books in many languages, postcards, St.Petersburg’s art and history souvenir books, Dvd’s, calendars and stationary, together with large children's section.

Great source for tourists -- books in English/French/German/Japanese/Chinese etc. about Saint Petersburg and Russia; reasonably prices souvenirs - mostly calendars & magnets but also a few keepsake boxes and Faberge eggs. There are a few tables and chairs where you can sit and read, cafe and WC upstairs.

English language books are up front. Check out the back left, first floor corner for nice souvenirs (laquered boxes, Imperial Porcelain). They are reasonably priced and authentic.
