I've been to Baklazhan several times, as I live in St.Petersburg. You may find it stupid to go to a shopping mall for a restaurant, but it is really worth visiting, despite difficulties to get into the elevator and reach the 4th floor. You may have to book a table in advance, as it could be quite crowdy Fri-Sun, but it is easy to find their contacts in the web (they are part of Ginza project chain). What I especially like about Baklazhan - it has genuine touch of a very good, caring cooking culture. You may get some Ayran (milk product with some herbs, just delicious) as a present for your arrival, or some other snack to try. They have extensive menu. This is not a crazy expensive centrally-located restaurant for tourists, so you will not be ripped off for your meal))) and you will enjoy it. Try the shashlyk (grilled meat), salads, desserts, whatever you like. I think it is better to try their menu on Caucasian food, rather than international dishes, that you can have in any other place. However, never did so)) We come there usually with friends or business, as it is cozy place, stylish, good food, not very expensive. To my opinion, it is not a place to enjoy silence, as it is usually crowded. But the atmosphere was always good, we were never disturbed. The service is very good, which is usual for Ginza. When coming to St.Pete and being in the center, it is a great place to visit. Enjoy!
