These are simply the best! These Pishki may look like doughnuts, but don’t be fulled by their roundness and a hole in the middle. These are fantastic little snacks at an amazing 13 rubles a piece. Fried dough sprinkled with confectioner sugar. Light and tasty. You just have to try one, but get at least three. The little cafe, from the soviet times, serves an assortment of drinks, but these are best either with tea or with house special coffee, which comes from a giant barrel pre-mixed with milk. Please keep in mind this is not a gourmet restaurant, so don’t expect wide variety of anything, they serve only one kind of Pishka. Oh, yeah, they also have resident cats in the place a super fat orange tabby and a pretty calico. You will love it all!

This is a great place to experience some nostalgia. I don't thing this place has changed since the soviet era. I think 3 is enough for one person and it's super cheap around 20rub for one.

Absolutely don't like it. It's cheap, but absolutely fat and doesn't tasty. There were a lot of people there, but the variety of food is too poor.

First and foremost, it's the doughnuts. Fresh, warm, soft, greasy, and covered with powdered sugar. People don't hesitate with these -- most we saw were having 3-6 doughnuts apiece. And they're very reasonably priced, at 13 rubles a doughnut. But it's also the joy of seeing Russians of all ages enjoying this simple pleasure together. Even waiting in a line, but getting through in not too long, and sitting or standing to happily wolf them down. I went with my son, who has been in St. Petersburg for a few months now and who encouraged me to try the doughnuts, but hadn't been to this particular place. After visiting, he wished he'd known of it, and certainly would have stopped by multiple times.
