Close to Mariinsky theater, and close to Red Stars. Hotel, nice small place with mainly good Italian cusine. Pizzas are big and nice, my colleague had salmon and no complaints, and deserts were also good. Service friendly and is there when needed and all in all, a place to visit of around. They have 6 tables outdoors by the street and if weather permits, makes it a nice experience. Be ready to pay 25 euros if refraining from wine.

We chose this place to eat before seeing ballet at the Mariinsky theater and so, it seems, did a lot of other guests, unsurprisingly because this place is conveniently close by. (A bit further down the canal is also the St. Nicholas' Naval Cathedral which is worth seeing, really beautiful).
We did not book a table as there were just the 2 of us, but if you are travelling with a group you probably should. The food was good, I had the calves' liver which was very tasty, my boyfriend had pasta but his portion turned out to be tiny so he had to order an additional dish of assorted fish. The service was good, not much English spoken but that didn't matter. Our table was tilting and without us asking our waiter made put a lot of effort into fixing it.
There were no pizzas on the menu when we ate there and all the tables were laid with white cloths. 2 days later I walked by and noticed that part of the dining room was differently laid and there they offered pizza menus. I suspect that maybe on theater nights they only offer fine dining.
There was an outdoor seating area, but unfortunately not in the evening sun. You can probably sit in the sun there for lunch, though.

I booked a table before seeing Swan Lake at the Mariinsky. Perfect location to theatre, literally a 2 minute walk. They welcomed us on arrival by name. Excellent personal friendly service. The starter Parma ham & melon was delicious and good generous size portion. We popped back for coffee after and they were kind enough to call is a taxi. Lovely decor, classy feel without being overpriced. Will defiantly be back. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended by two couples from Minnesota. Spent four days in St Petersburg in May. Saw a review and advertisement in the St Petersburg in your pocket mini guide. Nice portions, excellent pizzas, friendly service, fair prices, extraordinarily clean and very pleasant decor. Don't let the $'s rating fool you. The decor works for both casual and elegant occasions but prices are very reasonable. Short safe walk from the Marriott Courtyard West Pushkin which we also all highly recommend.

We were traveling with our 2 year old and a Russian friend recommended this restaurant. I don't think you can see on the website, but they have a separate, more casual dining room which was perfect for us! They had a high chair and were very accommodating with our daughter. The more fancy side looked elegant and delicious as well, and there were tables with young children there. I believe this restaurant is owner operated, and it has that feel. Pizza delicious, good wine, and most of all not stressing about having a baby with us! Highly recommended for families.
