Owner description: The modest palace is set amid the lovely Summer Gardens, where Peter the Great held "assemblies" attended by aristocrats eager to maintain their social standing.

This is free! Open until 1030pm. Contains a coffee shop with high end desserts and free wifi. Very pretty, groomed garden nice for walking or sitting to read a book in a shady spot. Pretty fountains and statues. No dogs. Would recommend as a pre-dinner stroll.

The garden is a eat place to take a stroll through as you tour the city. It is an oasis in the middle of the city. Great statues and plenty of food carts.

The palace is truly an amazing sight. Mainly baroque style with mirrors, gold and paintings. Worth the trip out there. Get a good guide

I want to go back and see every room again!! the waiting line at the beginning was totally worth it! It has such beautifull rooms, deco, art I am glad I took the trip to the summer palace we had the luck that some opera group was performing on one of the rooms! magical

The garden was closed and all the statues encases in corrugated iron booths when we visited in April 2014, for 'drying out' :-(
