“Excellent Service, great location!”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is a nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood with a great location. It is close to a metro station and there are several good restaurants nearby. The staff is friendly, helpful and mostly speaks English. We especially appreciated the front desk manager who went out of his way to help us resolve a problem with Marriott when we tried to redeem points for our stay. We would stay here again if we ever return to St. Petersburg.

Fantastic hotel. All the amenities you need. Walking distance from every major sight within St. Petersburg. Friendly and accommodating staff. Helped with any question we had. We were even offered free champagne at our arrival. If you don't want to eat breakfast at a local place, try Teplo (street behind the hotel) or Happiness (счастье) accross from St. Isaac Cathedral.

Room Tip: No noise from the street or next door neighbor.

We had such an incredible time in St. Petersburg, I don't think we had a single bad moment our entire trip. This hotel was in the perfect location for us, since we spent 7 days walking the city and found our proximity to St. Isaac's and The Hermitage to be ideal. There were also several good restaurants within a few minutes walk which was convenient. The hotel was nice, its a little weird that the majority of the rooms had inward facing windows rather than outside, but it didn't bother us. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne in our room which was a nice touch. The rooms were clean and comfortable and up to American Renaissance standards for sure. Since we were there in the winter, the rooftop bar was closed which was a bummer but we had no shortage of things to do and see. The only real negative about this hotel is how expensive breakfast was, I mean $50 a person is pretty steep but it is a hotel and there was a pretty big selection so we had it twice but found breakfast elsewhere for the rest of our stay.

Thank you for your warm feedback. As an alternative to full buffet and continental breakfast, we offer a la carte options.

The location is very central, so ideal for siteseeing. The rooms are very comfortable but do not have the touches in the delux rooms that you would expect from a 5 star hotel - no robes, only 2 small towels provided, and no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. What also makes a difference for me in rating 5 star service is the way the hotel treats you individually - I asked for an additional towel which was provided swiftly but the next day the additional towel was not provided -I know it is a little thing but it is the little things that make the difference. I would also expect that the 'navigator' would have up to date knowledge on closures. We asked about visiting Peterhof as although we knew the gardens would not be fully functional we would be able to visit the museum, however it was fully closed for building works, so a rather wasted trip - the navagator needs to have excellent local knowledge. We did not pay the high price for breakfast - there are lots of places to eat nearby if you come out of the hotel and walk straight accross past St Issacs there are lots of cafes and bakeries. Templo in the road behind the hotel is excellent to eat at.

I spent a week at this hotel on a business trip, and really rather liked it - my room was quite comfortable and spacious, on the 6th floor, with a view only of the internal courtyard, but walking to the elevator, I could see the great view of St Isaac's Cathedral. I had breakfast and dinner there every day, and both were of good quality. Blinis for breakfast, with smoked salmon, and various good things for dinner - shrimps, salmon, beef stroganoff, all of them were good. If I came back here for vacation, it seems a convenient place to stay, close to many main sights.

we stayed five nights at the St Petersburg Baltic Hotel; the first four nights as part of an escorted tour.

The hotel itself is adequate or better in most respects. We had champagne on arrival but I suspect that was compliments of the tour operatou. Our room was an average size but very clean and well supplied.

We had no wifi and had to go down to the foyer to use the internet.

Breakfast was somewhat limited but perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately, no one told us that we could order a cooked breakfast from the kitchen and It took me a few days to work that out.

The bar in the hotel was quiet most of the time we were there and I thought the drinks were very reasonably priced.

As most other reviewers have noted, the hotel's best feature is its location. We love walking and from our hotel, we could reach most attractions in central St Petersburg. Even as part of our tour, we walked from the hotel to the Hermitage Museum.

There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance and most had staff who spoke english.

Room Tip: This is not a tip about the hotel but while in St Petersburg make sure you take the evening champagn...

Marvelous stay and location in St. Pete, many places of interest around: St. Isaac' Cathedral, Hermitage Palace, Mariinsky theatre. Excellent place for the first visit to the City. A lot of top rated on Tripadvisor restaurants nearby.

In part of service - 8th floor is the best (good city view, especially Isaac Cathedral); six floor and below has inside yard view. Breakfast is quite good (selection of food is standard, but very high quality and serving is very pleasant).

It was explained in other review, but roomkey hint is very helpful: you could access Hermitage without standing in long line.
