“Good value for money”

Considering the skyrocketed prices for hotelrooms in Russia, this hotel is a good alternative. Although at least a 30 minutes walk away from the Nevski Prospekt, the metro is closeby. Rooms are large, which is a relief after so many modern design hotels with a lot of fuzz but no space. Breakfast is good for Russian standards. The staff is friendly, and at the reception they speak English, and are quite willing to do so! There's a German-style restaurant nearby for a good German beer, and a Coffee House for a good coffee. Definitely a good deal this hotel!

Stayed in this hotel for 4 days, first impresion was the friendly welcome and helpful woman on reception who speaks perfect english. they will arrange your registration for a small fee and within 15 mins was all done for me. Its a little out of the way from the city centre and Nevsky Prospect but only a 5 min walk from the nearest metro station, there after a few stops you'll be in the heart of the city so this was not a problem, and actually was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main city centre. Also a nice walk into the city which I did on 2 occations rather than take the metro, but be warned it is a little trek tho interesting. Some nice Restaurants and coffee shops nearby the metro staition. Also you need to remember that the times the metro stops at night if you are in the city, also that the bridges go up and the hotel is on the other side of the river so check times so you do not get stranded.
The hotel room was nicely roomy, double bed and bathroom with bath with shower with plenty of hot water. Room cleaned and beds made, and fresh towels everyday, including the soaps and bath gels. There is a safe in the room which or a small fee you can make use of it.
Breakfast is served on a buffet style help yourself and was more than adiquite, meats fruit, tea, coffee, yogart, etc etc more than you could wish for and was excellent, this was served from 7am till 9am my only wish would be that it was served till 10am but thats just me liking a longer lay in ! Free sauna and small pool in the early morning, my only disapointment was it was only free for guests between certain times, far too early for most perhaps, but for a small fee available at other times. Staff were all very friendly, most speaking english and very helpful. a small shop and bar, also a beauty saloon.
It is hard to find any faults for this hotel, our stay was faultless and it was more than we expected, very clean and very professional. I would definately stay there again.

Deson Ladoga hotel is situated in a quiet area, and very close to metro, tram, bus stations.
A non – stop supermarket is at 10 minutes walk.
The rooms are large, with a generous bathroom. No air conditioner, but we didn’t need it, because of moderate temperature of the month of July.
It’s preferable to take a room at the back side of the hotel, because the noise of the street (at the front side).
The staff are friendly, and speak English. There is also a gift shop, with negotiable prices. It’s possible money exchange at the hotel (I remember about an ATM in the lobby).
The food is ok and various.
I warmly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back side are quieter

It is important to know what to expect from the average three star hotel in Russia: a simple but adequate bathroom, one or two good beds, fairly thin curtains. No airconditioning and in the colder months often central heating (central for the whole city, not just the hotel!).
Ladago delivers on this in a good way. It is a mid-size hotel just outside the center of St Petersburg. Rooms on the front can be a bit noisy because of traffic.
NB: I was a member of a small tour group. We did have adequate breakfast and good dinners in the hotel

My friend and I stayed for a whole week and have no real complaints about the stay at all.
We got what we paid for and it was done well.
The twin room we had was spacious, good new TVs and a large bathroom.
Ladoga is a 5/10min walk from the nearest Metro which is then a 5/10min ride to the centre of the city.
The hotel has a sauna and free wi-fi and a free PC to use in the lobby, complimentary breakfast is buffet style and has lots to choose from.
The staff were nice and friendly and speak English well, the restaurant serves nice food and you can even eat in the bar area where there is a TV and a souvenir shop.
The only downside for me was the bed, mine was a little hard but my friend said he liked his and if you have a room facing the main street, its a little noisy but just close the windows at night as they are pretty sound proof.
All in all, a thoroughly recommended hotel!

I was on a trip with group consisting of arts and russian students from my upper secondary school. I was quite excited for what kind of our hotel will be... I was veeeery pleasently surprised. From outside it's, well, nice, but indoors it's WONDERFUL!!! Never before had I been in such awesome a hotel. Rooms are very good sized, bed are comfortable and hotels water is desinfected (very good thing in Russias big cities). Only not so good thing in the room is the tricky shower - you get water, but temperature is very hard to set to suitable. Complimentary breakfast was good. Hotels staff is helpful and they speak english and I felt welcome right from the moment I stepped inside. Hotels location is very good also - not in the city centre so it's rather quiet there and it's only about 300 metres to the closest subway station and there's a tramvaj or трамвай (russian tram) stop is almost next to the hotel. I found the surroundings being safe also though russian trafic culture is rather speedy.
