An impressive hotel in the middle of the city, well designed and decorated renovation made from old structure with good craftsmanship. Almost ten years by now but still in good condition. Breakfast offered a diversified range of food and fair to good service.

I was there on a business in July 12. Hotel location is great- walking distance to many attractions, restaurants.
Hotel is for business and not for family stays. It has many conference halls and many conferences are taking place in this hotel.

Stuff in front desk are well trained and friendly- housekeeping not so much... my room was not cleaned well when I checked in, and wasn't cleaned well afterwards..
Based on the price they charge you per night you want to expect better service and better rooms. Bathrooms are outdated, carpets is filthy.
Room service is good- food was very good.
I used their taxi service to pick up/drop off to airport it is very nice ... but costs 5 times more than a city taxi.

Did not have time to check their Spa and Gym.

A wll postioned hotel right in the Nevsky Prospekt. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. We were on the business floor and could therefore use the Lounge Bar for smaller meals and refreshments.
The Bathrooms were particular spacious and beautifull equipped.

St. Petersburg is as we all know a dramatic city and a spectacle derived from its setting, architecture (mostly) and in summer, at least, wonderful light and colour. So, why did the designers of this hotel ignore all of the above and create an interior that is drab, dull and depressing. It could be anywhere with no thought as to how to link it to the city that it occupies.

I had an interior facing suite which was dark and required the lights on at all times, which I find depressing, particularly in high summer. Furnishings were uniformly pedestrian and not even a print to indicate that the hotel is in St. Petersburg. The bathroom was however quite well lit and with Bulgari toiletries although those didn't quite extinguish the rank smell of drains.

Housekeeping was ok but slovenly. Returning to my room at 4pm one afternoon, it still had not been serviced and I waited 30 minutes for it to be done and 30 minutes later they came to do "turn down" - not great management in my view.

Laundry was however good and punctual.

No meals other than breakfast which was ok. The Club Lounge had friendly staff but again was on the downside of drab.

That's the trouble with chains (with the exception of the ultra-brands), they make no effort to relate to the city in which they operate. Wouldn't take much to make it relevant, so why not?

The Corinthia is situated right in the middle of the main street, very close to all the major attractions and shopping area. The hop on hop off buses stop almost in front of the hotel and are an excellent and cheap way to go through the city as you can stop and get on as much as you want.
The rooms and bathrooms are very big and offer all the comforts.
The staff are really very helpful and attentive.
There is no doubt that this is the best 5 star in town.
