Definitely worth a visit, however beware of pick-pockets. My husband had license and several other cards lifted from his back pocket while being jostled about in the very crowded church.

Really beautiful piece of architecture, and easy to reach (just off Nevsky). A popular tourist attraction so expect quite a few people there, rain or shine. The real lure for many is the exterior, but if you are interested in the history and interior (which can feel a little claustrophobic, given the mix of gold and all-covered colored walls), you can visit inside. But, if you're pressed for time or just want to admire a truly gorgeous church, a stroll around this building and the nearby gardens can be inspiring enough.
