We went to see some of the Rembrandts, and were not disappointed! The rooms of the palace are stunning!

This was one of the many spots we visited when in St Petersburg for 2 days on our Baltic Cruise.

The Hermitage is a must see, and even if you are not into art, you should enjoy this immensely. We were fortunate enough to have an extremely knowledgeable guide named Darsha from TJ Tours. Her descriptions and understanding of her home town history added to this huge place.

5 buildings/palaces all linked together with paintings and famous artists is in a word, spectacular. We were only there for a couple of hours and could have spent much more time. When we go back to, this will be a must stop and do again.

I would call it the Russian Louvre!!!!!!!

Enjoy and try not to get overwhelmed with the culture and beauty you will witness!!!!

This is an old building. A spectacular staircase but in the whole its just a massive art gallery. If art is your thing then great. Architecturally it's better from the outside. Inside it is crowded. Couldn't see the davinci because of the crowd of people. Not a lot of ventilation to cope with the number of people. No water allowed inside.

The museum is gorgeous and worth spending several hours. However, try not to visit during the peak season. We were blessed with unusually good summer like weather in early May and it was already tough to enjoy the treasures with the tour groups from around the world and disembarking cruise ships milling around. Long lines to get in and barely enough time to see the beautiful art treasures.

Like all the palaces and museums in St. Petersburg, magnificent. Our tour guide Dina took great pains explaining the paintings and structure.
