Most stumble across this place and are delighted, as was I:) in a but shell I had the carrot soup, chicken, b. apple desert and a little truffle. A very British choice but I like to experience known food in different places in addition to new foods.
The atmosphere really was lovely!
A very quaint place. A fantastic menu. Very good service.

Accidental find and a good one (went to Gogol but did not have a reservation and could not be seated, walked across the street to Gosti).

Try okroshka (Russian cold soup) - the best I have ever had!

Appearances can be deceptive - from the outside, this looks like an Italian-style trattoria with small tables under an awning beside the busy Malaya Morskaya. Inside and upstairs, however, you're in a charming, cottage-like interior full of bric-a-brac and comfortable chairs.
The cuisine is traditional Russian, coming at a fairly reasonable price, considering the quality, the excellent service, and the friendly, busy ambience.

Serbian/Russian food. Friendly English speaking staff. Excellent borscht as well as carrot soup with tomato brushetta for a perfect light lunch. Very old world - country decor. Can dine outside, inside or upstairs in a larger dining room. Went back for dinner where we enjoyed the shrimp/pumpkin risotto and octopus risotto with a nice carafe of white wine. Very nice atmosphere upstairs.
Get a window table.

Stopped in for a bite after taking some exercise and enjoyed the soups, salad and cakes. Can be difficult to find a meatless meal in Russia, but choices abound here. Check out the pastry inside and find some delicious interpretations of carrot cake and cupcakes. Carrot soup with cumin was excellent. Highly recommend.
