“English speaking anglotourismo tour isn't worth the extra cost”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We chose this boat tour even though it is more expensive than the other ones because the explanations are in english. The bad thing is that their audio system is so bad that you understand as much as you would have in the cheaper russian tours which additionally offer more interesting routes. The guide apologized for the audio system even before the trip began, so it is an usual problem. It is not because of the motor background noise but because the audio system and boxes are bad. For the really expensive price they charge (14 US), they could give each guest headphones like many tours do so everyone would be able to understand what the guide is saying.

The second bad experience is that they said that the tour lasted 1:15 hr and it only lasted 1 hr and did not go through the small canal even though this route is shown in the flyer. On the flyer it says that the canal route is taken only if the weather permits it. In our case it was a splendid sunny day without wind or anything, so the weather permitted it. But they just don't go through there.

Save money and go to a russian-speaking tour.

“Do not take the 00:20 boat ride”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

I took the boat ride twice once during the day and the 00:20. The reason i took this was to see the bridge opening......total disappointment.

1) we left at 12:30 and not 12:20 for no explained reason
2) instead of immediately heading out on the river we had a short ride in the canal. This means that first opening was missed
3) we ere then told we would see the other 2
4) around the time of the opening strangely the boat started moving further away than bridge ....very strange
5) then guide says will open in 5/6 min but we are being driven away from bridge!!!!!
6) suddenly whilst already moving in she says it will be open 10 min later.....

This is a scam do not take this ride someone else had commented something similar and i thought maybe it was a one off.

THe other boats did not move in only the english speaking boat did.....hence do not take english speaking one prefer hearing russian but seeing what i intended to see !!!!!

Guess guide wanted to finish off early to go elsewhere to party.....disgraceful!!!!!

“Did 5 of their tours!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Walking tours of the city were amazing. Great way to start getting to know the city, the main buildings and streets ( city free tour) as well as visiting places that are not right in the main center of the city (Petrograd walk). I highly recommend this to tourists that want to know different places within SP and don't want to get attached to a rigid schedule. The guide ( Dmitri) was great, very relaxed and transmitted his love for St Peter with interesting information and a great sense of humor. I also did the Dostoevsky's tour with Mike, which was great since he shows you all these places were the writer lived as well as the very spots were Crime and punishment took place as he kind of narrates you parts of the story. The boat tour was ok. although sometimes it was difficult to hear, but I think it´s worth it anyway since the canals and rivers give you an amazing view of the city. Finally, I did the night boat tour with Alina ( not quite sure though)...this is a MUST. The city, from the water at night is absolutely amazing, you just can't miss it!! Had a wonderful time...thanks!!!

“A good introduction to the city”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

I was a little bit worried because the sign on the booth said to make sure the Anglotourismo logo was on my ticket, which it wasnt. I didnt need to be concerned, however, because the tour was very good and the hour seemed to be over almost before it had begun. The guide explained all the sites as we passed along the canal and then into the Neva river. It was a very pleasant way to see the major sights and to be recommended.

“An averange boat tour”
Reviewed July 27, 2013

A decent boat ride to see the mighty river Neva and to get an idea how the historical heart of the city looks like seen from the channels. The problem was that the roar of the engines of the boat overwhelmed the guide's voice when you were on the deck. And inside the cabin you heard OK, but of course couldn't get to take good pictures.
The price, 600 rub = 14+ euros/ person, a little bit so and so in price/quality ratio.
