“Affordable, clean, great location, basic, good for business travel”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Me and my Mom went to see the north capital of Russia Saint Petersburg. I absolutely recommend everybody to see this amazing city. I have travelled a lot all over the world, so I can defiantly say that this is one of the most beautiful cities I ever saw.
The hotel we stayed is a mini-hotel which occupies third floor of elevated residential building. The convenience and location are great. Its is 10 min walking from the main street Nevsky pr, 15 min walk from The State Hermitage Museum. Hotel located near by two subway stations, many restaurants and bistros and the market. The rooms are clean, well equipped with refrigerator and high speed internet access. The breakfast is basic ( yogurts, sausages, eggs, milk, coffee, cookies), same every day of your stay, so after a while you might choose to have breakfast elsewhere. I would recommend Elki-Palki place on Nevsky prospekt, great budget bistro with cultural Russian cuisine. The rooms of the hotel face Moskovsky pr, so can get pretty noisy.
Overall, I would recommend to stay in this unpretentious hotel if you looking for basic clean room and good speed internet, good for business travel.

This unpretentious hotel is situated on the 3rd floor of an ordinary old building 20 minutes walk from the Hermitage and 3 minutes away from a central metro station. The location is perfect. The building entrance is off-putting and the elevator an appalling contraption good for carrying the luggage once - and no more. The Dom Vyazmskoy itself has 6 clean, comfortable rooms, not spacious but I've seen crampier conditions in hotels in big cities. The staff - mostly young students polishing their English and doing night shifts. They were kind and helpful in arranging transfers and restaurant reservations and altogether pleasant - which is not taken for granted in Russia.
Breakfast is - as previous reviewers noted - rather basic (and we even had to remind the staff to lay it out one morning) and consisted only of provisions that could be prepared the night before (nothing fresh but the coffee pot) but it was plentiful and for us adequate.
one more caveat - for the older or frail traveler - the baths are very high, so that when you step in and out of them you will need some agility.
All in all - very good value!

This hotel is located nearby with 3 metro station (3 minutes by foot) on the Moskovsky prospect in the historical building (3d floor). A lot of restaurants and shops! 10 minutes on foot up to main street – Nevsky prospect.
When I have seen this hotel at first time, I was amazed by wonderful interior! Staff was very kind and helpful.
Room was spacious and clean.
After rainy and cold day (my trip lasted 3 days in the beginning of October) it was pleasure to come back in the hotel where I was welcomed by warm atmosphere and hot cup of tea.

But sometime there was too noisily on Moskovsky prospect, but I think it is a problem almost of all hotels in the centre.

So I guess If I have next trip to Saint-Petersburg, I would stay only in there!

Other than the location, this hotel was one of the worst we've ever stayed in. The breakfast was almost inedible, the coffee pot was usually empty, even at breakfast, the hotel elevator is the size of a phone booth, they did not have the double or queen size bed they had promised and when the air conditioner started spraying water all over the room at 3:30am, they refused to refund our nights stay

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking time and writting the feedback! We're sorry to learn that your stay was not as expected. It’s hard to believe, but such situations actually are not typical for our hotel, and this is very sad that you faced all of them at once.
As for breakfast, usually our receptionists are trying to keep everything full and ready. I believe it was not for their poor attitude to work, but for the situation of the high season, when there are so many guests and so much work to do.
We apologize if the hotel facilities didn't meet your demands and again, thank you for your comments - each opinion is highly important for us.

It was a nice stay in St. Petersburg! The room was clean, spacious and very quiet. The Metro stop is very close and handy for getting any where in the city. Everything you need is within walking distance (grocery store, souvenir shops, metro, restaurants). Tea and coffee were for free at any time. Bed was comfortable, with ample pillows and blankets.

High standards of service, nice neat rooms (I like such antique style of mini-hotel), friendly english speaking staff, very convenient location (metro station) and reasonable price. Everything that I need for my comfortable living.
I enjoyed my staying in St-Petersburg in a quiet and charming atmosphere! Hope to visit this wonderful city during the summer!

Room Tip: All rooms are good. I had type of room - comfort
