“Very nice hotel in central location.”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

We staid in the 3mostA between May 31st & 4th June. The hotel is in a perfect spot to discover the wonders of St Petersburg with loads of tourist attractions within 10 to 20 minutes walk. The hotel staff are very friendly and speak good English, the room we stayed in was number 27 on the 2nd floor it has a small settee and fridge downstairs next to the shower which I must say was one of the cleanest and best shower rooms I have seen. The bedroom upstairs was small but enough room for a good sized bed wardrobe and tvand the room was very quiet at night. The only downside which has been mentioned on a lot of reviews was the breakfast it is not worth the £6 charge we used it twice and both times there was no orange juice and one time no bread, I know you only had to ask but you should not have to do this if the staff did their job. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel as the good points outway the one complaint regarding the breakfast.

The double room I had booked was excellent: very comfortable, nice view to one of the best churches, lots of space in the room and also in the bathroom, sunny windows, quite and peaceful room with sofas to relax and read a bit.
The hotel is located in the very centre of what has to be seen and done, it's just 5-10 minutes walk to Herrmitage, Russian Museum, parks and churches. It's also 10 minutes walk to lively streets with nightlife, but itself is located in a small and very peaceful street.
The staff is very kind and helpful, they speak different languages including Spanish.

Room Tip: Double room on high floor with view to the "Church of the ... Blood"

Very good quite hotel with a good ratio price/quality.
The rooms are confortable, even if the standard ones are a little small, however you can find inside everything you need. The location is one of the best you can find in St Peterburg, close to the most important sites of the city: museums, churches, restaurants, shopping.
Staff is kind, professional, efficient either you ask for something or you need information and/or reservation before going. Breakfast could be better.

Room Tip: rooms on lower floors

As others have written the location is excellent and the front desk staff are very welcoming and helpful. Cars to and from airport and Peterhof, which we arranged through the hotel, were clean, comfortable and had welcoming drivers who were proud to show their city to visitors -- including detour to the delight which is the pink Chesmenskaya church about ten minutes from the airport -- and gave running commentaries on all aspects of the city even though their English was limited (but sooo much better than my three words of Russian).

My room was spacious and clean. I did have a mosquito issue on the first night -- hard to avoid in a canal city in warm weather I guess -- but the plug-in repellent thing seemed to do the trick.

Breakfast was passable, but not good value. The weekday café staff were much better than the chap at the weekend (who seemed to treat the place like a personal club in which guests would unhelpfully intrude).

The hotel organised a guide for us through the Hermitage. It was a Godsend to have Tatyana to guide us and show us other items en route between the particular gems we wanted to see in the limited time available, plus great back-story on the museum/palace, surrounds on the walk from the hotel and history in general.

In summary, if you could just get that café sorted out you will be unbeatable for value and location.

As most of the reviews state, the staff in this hotel were fantastic. We had been travelling around China, Mongolia and Russia on the trans-mongolian express for 3 weeks prior to staying in this hotel and had got used to the less than enthusiastic attitude of the staff in most of the Russian hotels! They helped us booking taxi's, spoke good english and looked into local events that were going on on the date we stayed (the 310th St Petersburg birthday celebrations).

The bedroom we had was extremely comfortable (particularly the beds) and the location was spot on being so close to the main highlights of the city. Due to the rain, we got a taxi to the Mariinsky theatre for about 600 Rubles or 15 Euros and then walked back which took about 40 minutes. The taxi to the airport cost 1200 Rubles or 33 Euros.

All in all a great final hotel for us for an excellent price given the location.

Stayed at 3mostA for 4 nights (in the beginning of May) with colleagues from work. The hotel’s location is excellent. Approx 500 meters from the Church of Spilled Blood, 5 min from Nevskaya Avenue (the main street for shopping etc) and 10 min from the Winter Palace (the Hermitage).

The rooms are a fair size (European style) and the bathrooms are very good (the shower cubicle was larger than what I am used to, which was a pleasant surprise).

The rooms were very clean and the front desk staff were very helpful with every request we had (except when it came to keeping the room until 2 pm upon check out, but that is not always possible and will always depend on the arrival list, so we had no problem understanding their reluctance in this matter).

We also used the hotel’s car service to and from the airport and to the opera one evening. They were all pleasant drives and fairly prised.

Breakfast was not included in our price, which was just as well as it was not particularly good. But the view from the breakfast room (and the roof top area) is breathtaking, so you should eat there at least once. But for the remaining 3 mornings we just went to Nevskaya and had breakfast at one of the many cafés that open early.

Due to the perfect location and good beds I would certainly stay there again if I visit SPB.

We stayed at 3MostA for 4 nights this week. It's fair to say we have mixed feelings about the hotel. There were some genuinely excellent components, and some not so great. Overall, it's a good place to stay, but in our experience it didn't entirely live up to the extent of very positive reviews it has received on Trip Advisor in the past.

Starting with the positives:

1. Fantastic location - within 10mins walk of most of St Petersburg's historic sights. From the breakfast room you look out on the Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood. The view from the rooftop terrace is very more spectacular (we counted 15 church spires across our 360 degree view!).

2. Clean and comfy rooms - our room was spotless on arrival, the bathroom was among the cleanest we've ever encountered. The beds are great quality, as are the doonas and sheets.

3. Reception staff are kind and responsive, good service.

Now the not so positive aspects:

1. The rooms are small - ours was loft-style, but the ground floor was tiny.

2. Breakfast is pretty basic and only worth the money because other alternatives are hard to find nearby (at least before 9-10am)

3. The Mosquitos are bad in spring - we made the mistake of opening our window for fresh air, my wife spent the entire night swatting Mosquitos and getting bitten repeatedly. Even with the spray the hotel provided, the mossies would not go away (a situation not helped by the housekeeper leaving the window open every day, despite requesting it be kept closed).

4. Only one English language TV channel, 'Euro News' which was so much worse than BBC World News. The hotel guide book in the room says there are
3 or 4 English channels, but they have obviously since been removed.

5. Our bar fridge didnt work, meaning that all the food we had purchased from the supermarket got spoilt overnight. The staff were quick to arrange a replacement fridge, but didn't offer to replace or reimburse us for the food we'd lost.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Hotel 3MostA, but we have certainly stayed at better places across Europe, of similar or better value. We hope that the hiccups we experienced don't happen to other guests in the future. Remember - bring lots of mosquito spray!!
