location is great...slightly intimidating as you walk through an arch into a quiet, but not terribly inviting courtyard. But the hotel is very welcoming inside. Staff very helpful and attentive. We had some problems with paperwork (not their fault), which caused us some panic, but they helped us out. No fuss. quiet and comfortable. we slept great. easy place to return to, to take breaks from sightseeing -- a big benefit in the endless days of mid-summer. good, varied breakfast.

Room Tip: We stayed in the suite. was more expensive but spacious and fun. Big jacuzzi tub, in which we soaked away miles of sightseeing walking. small fridge, and a sitting room.

Pros: The term that kept coming to mind was solid. Great service, never waited for the elevator, staff were genuinely helpful and available 24/7.
Cons: It's unusual for me not to be able to find something to gripe about. But I honestly can't think of anything in this case.
Suggestion: Ask to use the scale in the luggage room if you want to weigh your suitcase before going to the airport.
Our Stay: We arrived about 9:30 am, and were relieved that we were allowed to check in immediately. Staff were gracious and spoke English quite well. The location is great, very close to Nevsky Prospekt and the Metro (both blue and green lines). There were several conspicuous signs to guide us to the hotel entrance as we arrived on foot from the metro station with our luggage in tow. We had booked a standard room for 5 nights, so were expecting somewhat spartan accommodations. Happily, the room seemed larger than the published dimensions, and was well appointed. Lots of closet and storage space, and a desk with 2 chairs, so one of us didn't have to always sit on the bed. The bathroom was nice, with a large shower. There was also a small refrigerator. TV had a BBC channel and a French channel in addition to the Russian programming. Beds and duvets were comfortable. The breakfast room was quite large, and we never had trouble finding a table. The selection of food was impressive (apple and orange juice, an espresso machine, 4 different kinds of cold cuts, 2 types of cheese, 2-3 types of salads, plus cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, hot oatmeal, cold cereals, fresh fruit, and for hot foods, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, blinis and a vegetable--usually broccoli, and yogurt and amazing pastries, several types of bread and a huge toaster). Items were replenished often, and the quality of the food was evident. No safes in the standard rooms, but the one at the front desk was fine. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Suggestion: Ask to use the scale in the luggage room if you want to weigh your suitcase before going to the airport.

The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful. The location is excellent, and the brasserie around the corner, connected with the hotel, is very good and they offer a 15% discount if you are staying at the hotel. There is a big supermarket and mall just a couple of blocks away on Nevsky Prospekt (Stockmans) where you can stock up on travel needs. Free wifi worked well.

Even though the address is Sadovaya Street, it is actually down Krylova Lane (off Sadovaya St) through an arch and into a courtyard. You arrive at the entry and you're looking at a moth, but inside you find a butterfly. Whilst the interior decor couldn't be described as modern, everything inside is fresh and new in the last two or so years. New bathrooms, fresh paint, new furniture and so on. There is wifi, a safe in the room, bathrobes, toiletries, flat screen TV in each room and water coolers on each floor. It is also very well located. The metro is a block away and the start of the Hop-on Hop-off bus (if this is your thing) is just around the corner. It is quiet at night, the breakfast is good and above all, every staff member working at the front desk are angels. Their English is great and they go out of their way to help you with your day. This was the second last hotel we stayed at on a five week trip through Scandinavia, and the staff here were easily the best. If ever in Saint Petersburg again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

We stayed her in march 2014, 4 nights. It is very central and despite to access it you have to cross a tunnel ( very typical in St Petersburg), it is very good. The room was large and clean and the breakfast was very good. The WC was small, when comparing with the room, but it was OK. The Staff was very helpfully and spoke english. Good value for money. I will recommend it.
