I stayed there twice: first - by chance because I got a coupon for discount stay and then for the full price because I loved it. It's perefectly located in the historic centre near the Anichkov bridge and Fontanka river - 0,5 min to get to the Nevsky prospekt, the main city street though the building is far behind the Nevsky and very, very quiet. . Rooms are large, clean and well equipped. You cah take even their "economy' room without breakfast - there you can find a plenty of breakfast options just around the corner and there's a shared kitchen in their separate appartment (each room has facilites).
My only complaint is that it was too hot in the room during the night but it was in winter so I could open the window.

Nevsky Contour is a lovely B&B Hotel set back off Nevsky Prospect. Our room was small but well furnished with shower and TV. It was clean and warm. The staff speak excellent english and were always happy to help us out including writing some phrases we needed in Russian. There is continuous tea and coffee available. Breakfast is a buffet and there is the usual assortment of meats, cheese, bread and cereals.

Free Wifi and we also arranged an airport pickup. We booked directly on their site.

There is a nightclub opposite this hotel but we found with the window closed we could not hear anything.

This hotel can be difficult to find as it is on the 3rd floor of a builing down an alleyway and there are no signs visible from Nevsky P., just look for the Hotel Annabel sign and it is on the third floor.

We would definitely stay here again

The Nevsky Contour Hotel is very well situated just off the main street of shops and restaurants, 20 mins walk from the main river and Hermitage museum. In spite of the location the rooms and hotel were very quiet. The facilities were at a bed and breakfast level, about a dozen en-suite rooms along a corridor, with a reception/small dining area., at one end. Everything was clean and brightly decorated, the staff were very welcoming efficient and professional, and eager to offer quality advice and assitance in English. Excellent value for money overall.

Reservations? The hotel was hard to find, with only small plaque on an alleyway wall, which led to the hotel's courtyard. No sign at the doorway of the building. Once in the building, the lift to the 3rd floor was rather primitive and not very reassuring. The stairways to reception poorly decorated, had some metal balustrade missing rendering them potentially dangerous, and there was a general smell of tobacco.

I booked this hotel through booking.com and was very pleased with it. The hotel is situated at a quiet courtyard, though being 5 seconds away from the action street "Nevsky Prospect". The receptionist ladies were very helpful. My room was located in the main property (not the ANNEX part which is smaller) and it was spotlessly clean. The bathroom is pretty modern with a shower door, some toiletry amenities are provided too. There is a TV in the room. My room faced a quiet garden and there was a lovely breeze from the window during the heat wave which made me feel cool. There is no air conditioning in the room but the breeze was quite satisfactory.

There is a lovely basic buffet breakfast provided in the morning with good quality coffee from the coffee machine (important for me). The coffee/tea and water is provided 24/7 by the staff (you're served) which is a fantastic asset. The breakfast hall is a little small, so try to have your breakfast either early or late.

There is free WIFI access at the hotel, both in the rooms and in the common areas.

The staff will call you taxis whenever you need and will help you communicate with the taxi driver as most of them do not speak any other language than Russian. Otherwise you may have trouble figuring out how much you are supposed to pay. In case of any conflict, just pay the agreed amount (the receptionist girl would tell you the amount, say 350 Rbl) and say "Hotel said this much!). The word "hotel" is like a miracle word.

There are two airports in Saint Petersburg, so pay attention to whether it is DOMESTIC TERMINAL or INT'L TERMINAL.

The hotel is a little hard to find, so from Nevksy Prospect, you should be in a small countryard with a few more hotels and beauty parlors. It is located on the 3rd floor of a building and there is no signage where hotel's name is written.

Hi, really would like to write a very positive review about this mini-hotel. As I understand in St.Petersburg there're a lot on mini-hotels and all of them are in the houses where people live. Anyway, from the minuses I can say only one thing - the entrance to the hotel is thru the regular entrance and it's not renovated (like almost all house entrances in Russia), but everything besides it was just perfect!
I booked a room for me and my friend just for a week-end, the price thru expedia.com was about 70 USD including taxes, as we're going to arrive to St.Petersburg by train I wrote an email to the hotel in advance asking about early morning check-in and how much it'd cost, I've received a reply that we're welcome at 7 a.m. and it'd be for free. We arrived from Moscow on the night train at about 6.30 a.m. to the Moscow rail station, and at 7 a.m. I was in my room sleeping already :-) And it was really for free this early check-in.
This mini-hotel located on the Nevsky prospect just minutes away (about 10 min) walk from the Moscow train station, which is very comfortable. We lived at the economy room for 2 which meant it was at another entrance of the building (just 3 rooms with common dining area and kitchen). As it was the dates in April when the planes didn't fly :-) We were on our own at this block of the apartments:-) Room was very clean, with TV, DVD and DVD movies. All sights are 20-30 min walking from the apartment (or 2 metro stops, 2 metro stations is just 3 min away from the hotel). We went to the night club on Saturday and return home early morning walking from the club, everything was safe (plus this is central street in St.Petersburg). Really, for me this mini-hotel (except main common entrance and lift :-) is good 3* in Germany (I think they have the best hotels).
Plus we decided to extend our booking for several hours on Sunday (as our train was at 11 p.m. and check-out time is noon, so it's better to have a place to spend several hours to relax before the way home to Moscow), according to their rules extention will cost 50% of the day cost, so I just paid another 35 USD, and totally for our stay of 2 persons from 7 a.m. on Saturday thru 9.30 p.m. on Sunday we paid 105 USD which is really cheap I think as usually you pay like for a day tariff on early arrival-late departure. I don't know the prices the hotel will have at the peak season (starts from May). Plus may be it was so cheap because it was a sale on expedia, not sure but I enjoyed my stay.
P.S. And staff was really, really nice to us
