“Good Russian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

Nice Russian restaurant with lots of locals eating there on the Sunday afternoon we visited. Since my friend and I are a bit reluctant to eat organ meats we stuck to safe Russian foods--Borscht and Chicken Kiev. Both were great as was the bread, beer and the Baba Rhum and sorbet with Vodka that we had for dessert. Service was good but relaxed and not hurried. A very pleasant meal.

“Good place to eat traditional Russian food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2014

I really liked atmosphare, it was like a timetrip to 1940's.
Food (traditional russian) was good, simple and tasty, but overall not mindblowing experience. Good assortment of vodkas, but there are also other places in St. Petersburg to go if you really like to get into world of vodka.

We passed the vodka museum.

Overall, I can recommend.

“Vodka flights!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Come here to drink the big list of Vodkas they have to offer and to eat some simple yet hearty Russian food. It's nothing spectacular, but it does hit the spot and is very comforting after walking around in the winter cold for a while.

“Not that great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

I schlepped to find this place and not sure it was worth it. There is a restaurant and a museum which has a bar, but no bar in the restaurant, so if you just want to taste vodka you have to buy a museum ticket to get access to the bar. With the museum ticket, you have a choice of with or without tasting. Its best to get it without tasting because the tasting vodka is a generic Russian Standard that you can get everywhere, even in the states. Better to pay 150 less rubles and then you can taste from the more than 200 vodkas on the menu. It's a pity this place isn't better because it could be fun if they 1) allowed for half shot tastings...now you must buy a full shot and not even price aside, its just hard to do tastings on full shots or waste all of that vodka. 2) the bar tenders English was not good and they did not seem very educated on the vodkas and 3) there was no information about the vodka...where it was produced, what kind of flavor, from what it was fermented etc. Like I said, its a great concept but not executed. The dining room is flouresant light bright...no ambience...you feel like you are in a cafeteria. The food is average.
