Reception ladies very helpful and with very good english knowledge, polite etc. Room with nice view (suite 807) to the lake. Wifi working, bed ok, slept well. LCD-TV. Though it was said the rooms have AC there was the control panel for AC but no AC maschine, forgotten maybe. Toilet clean but shower cabine tiles in the corners were dirty/ not cleaned too often, Breakfast was good. Chekc out unproblematic.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the view to the lake are nice.

Probably the best hotel at present in Petrozavodsk. Friendly staff who speak also english.Air-conditioning, which was very useful during our stay with hot weather. Spacieus bathroom and well-equipped room with a comfortable bed. Try to get a room in topmost floor and from the lakeside, as the view is spectacular! Can really recommend.

Room Tip: Lakeside rooms in tomost floor have a splendid lakeside view.

Good location with lake views, friendly English speaking staff, clean though a bit too hot and tad dimly lit rooms of decent size, free wifi in the rooms, okay beds, clean but small bathrooms and good breakfast spread. My room on the 9th floor on the left side of the building had view of the city and a slice of the lake.I could not adjust the heater and had to spend some time trying to figure out how to get the charging points working(got to use keycard in the slot for power in the charging points) but thankfully did not have to hunt and play around with discreetly hidden light switches,a very irritating and common decor style in the so called modern hotels.Ala carte menu items on both the restaurants were overpriced and not value for money, but the staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous and spoke GOOD English.A new probably one of the trendier hotels it is recommended for short stay.

This is, currently, one of 2 or 3 acceptable hotels in Petrozavodsk
Rooms are quite large and comfortable - but extremely hot
Found hairs in the room that were not mine :-(
Distictive lack of light in the room
Staff is ok, from very good to plain uninterested, but that is ok for Russia
My compliments to the reception staff though
Views are fantastic
Breakfast is Ok, don't go to any of the restaurants as you'll find better, cheaper and with more atmosphere just walking 10' or so
Do NOT go to fitness : small and very bad sweaty smell

First of all the farce of the passport at check in.. They needed to see my Soviet internal passport or they would not be able to check me in...or possibly inform the KGB I was here... Ghen there was dinner where I had to wait 1 hour for my food.. So my conclusion is that outwardly it has the pretence of a 5 star but under the skin is an Old style Soviet hotel... Rooms are average, but not worth the money...Would not reccomend

Since my last visit to Petrozavodsk over five years ago, this city has changed a lot to the better, even though the flights from Helsinki and St Petersburg have been discontinued. Onego Palace is one of the new hotels, centrally located, clean and safe. The rooms are comfortable and the service is good. Airconditioning in the room did not work well, but internet connection was excellent and free of charge. This is a good choice for a business person, because all important appointments are within walking distance. The atmosphere is somewhat melancholic in the city, because all soviet industries are gone, and there are no new investments, except shopping centres and hotels. However, Petrozavodsk is the gateway to the Karelian nature and old culture, much valued by the Finns as well.

new building, in the centre of city. Staff at the reception smiles, but nothing more. Back to uSSR, with the addition of smile from the staff. breakfast is poor, no water, sometimes even bread. Too hot in the rooms, and you can not manage to regulate it. Service at the bar and restaurants too slow, but they do not care, as clients have not much to choose to go.
