“amaizing place”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Very nice atmosphere in such old place like Sophia Cathedral. It is amaizing frescas on the walls, many historicaly important people's relics and of course miracle icon of Our Lady of Sign. Dont miss Sigtuna gates, stolen from Sweden 800 years ago.

it is the oldest church preserved in Russia and it is worth to take a look on it.

“A beautiful Church with less crowds”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

Beautiful church, with locals still visiting it. Strict no photo policy, no hats, although you do not see this sign until you leave the church. Our tour guide surprisingly did not suggest women wear head covers.

“Beautiful and authentic Russian cathedral”
Reviewed July 21, 2012

This building is fascinating just to enter: Dark and quit small inside it is living testimony of the religious devotion of Russian people. No pictures can be taken, man should take off their hats and women cover their hair.
Outside it is well restored. Don't miss the metal doors showing scenes from bible outside.

“Amazing place....”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

Certainly a peaceful place....words can only describe the soothing beauty of the place. A good time to visit would be in between winter and spring...when the cool crisp air and clear blue skies makes it a wonderful experience. Spend at least 1-2 hours to savour the beautyof this UNESCO heritage site...after a long 2.5 hours drive from Tyumen. Dive into the history and rich culture of the city.
