Being in Novgorod, I try to visit this place every time. Standard building with columns and statues inside, the museum always half-empty and ready to open new nuances for those, who like paintings. Having not so much masterpieces, it has remarkable appearance of Russian artists: Aivasovsky, Rokotov, Vasnetsov, Vereshagin to name a few. I’m fond of two canvases here: “Little antiquar” painted by K. Makovsky and “Kupec woman” (Ancient Salesman’s wife) by Ryabushkin. It’s wonderful! Take an excursion, you will dive deeper.
