Pizza is very good but it's a pain standing at the door waiting for a table to open up. When it does you have to sit at a dirty table waiting for someone to come by and clean it and hope that the waitress notices you are new there! They need someone sitting people.

I guess people flock to this place because it's a tradition. Tried it for the first time this past summer, and found it crowded and hot. While everybody talks about their pizza, I thought it was just like a famous chain pizza place.

I am originally from the Albany area and had heard about Kay's from my brother who had been there four or five times. So last night was the night when six of us went over to Kay's around 6 30 PM. We quickly got a table by a window and ordered some wine and a pitcher of Yuengling, always a treat when it is on tap. My brother suggested the anitpasto, a plate of wings, and two pizzas, one a vegetarian with mushrooms, peppers, and onions, and the other with sausage and mushrooms. Even though the restaurant was crowded we were served quickly. The large antipasto was perfect for the six of us, and we each tried a couple of the wings, and then on to the pizza which was as everyone describes it, really with a great crust with the dough they make themselves. When you are at Kay's it is a throwback to simplicity and an atmosphere that has not changed, that is according to those that have been frequenting Kay's for years. The owner stopped by our table and wanted to know if everything was okay. And he stopped and talked with us for a while. This is really a fun place and if you are in the area stop by. You won't be disappointed.

If you arrive when they open up at 4 PM you will be sure to get a table. Has a down home feel...I love that when you order a toss salad, they send over a carafe of the salad dressing so you can use as much or as little as you choose. We are fans of the sausage and mushroom pizza. Great sauce, great dough and generous with the toppings. Well worth the trip.

Nothing can beat Kay's pizza. It is simply the best you'll ever have. Our favorite is sausage and mushroom but the pepperoni is very good too. It can get crowded, but doesn't the best places do? You can sit with other families at the same table and meet some new friends there. Service is as good as can be. A terrific and fun summertime restaurant.
