We've been trying pizza around the area to find our favorite and Kay's is in the top two. The sauce on Kay's pizza is by bar the BEST! We've never actually eaten IN Kay's but for take out, we give it an A! The crust is on the thicker side, so if you are looking for thin crust pizza, this is not for you... We've picked our pizza up as early as 4:30 on a Friday night and the place was already filling up...

If you're up for the best pizza the capitol district has to offer, this is it. It is not a place to go to for a gourmet meal---it's strictly a place for pizza, salad, beer, etc. It is always crowded, you seat yourself, it's noisy, filled with families, and lots of pizza!!! I've gotten so spoiled---I rarely go elsewhere for pizza. It is a seasonal operation, and is right on the lake, so the views are very lovely. Parking can be a challenge, but it's all about the pizza!!!!

Great pizza!!! Very quirky location. Feels like you're back in the 50's. Great value and great food. Gotta find your own table though and it can be very busy but that's all part of the charm. Steamers and crab cakes also very good.

it is a mad dash for your table. you are on your own. you can sit at a big table with others, just ask. the pizza over the years has been quite good. the new owners haven't screwed it up. kinda on the high side of pizza price. if you like it crispy just ask.
the one beef i have is it is not handicap accessible. if we hget the chair in i am not certain it can be navigated properly.

I've known kay's all my life. They make a really nice cheesy, greasy pizza. Other than that, they are somewhat lackluster. Not the place to dine-in. It is always crowded; people are packed in like sardines. The building itself is caving in, needing major renovation. It had changed owners multiple times. Other than pizza, the food is average. Store bought bread, iceberg salads, your average Italian food menu. I would go to Kay's only for their pizza, because everything else is subpar.
