AZIMUT Hotel Vladivostok
Ranked #1 of 33 Hotels in Vladivostok

One of our worst hotel experiences ever (although the restaurant was OK). Our group stayed here only because our Golden Eagle private train was delayed by six hours. The hotel was being renovated (long overdue). The 2nd floor had new windows, but everything else was falling apart. Our door had a 1" square hole above the handle. The toilet leaked and the bathroom floor was covered in paint splashes. The shower was simply half of the bathroom, with an old plastic curtain stopping 6" above the floor. An ancient TV and refrigerator were in the tiny twin room (#243). There were no proper sheets on the bed; instead, single sheets were doubled over sideways. Some friends were initially given a room with unmade beds and a huge ashtray overlowing with cigarette butts. There was a noisy striptease club inside the hotel, opposite the restaurant, with a crowd of people smoking their heads off outside.

Room Tip: I strongly suspect that there are NO good rooms here.

The Hotel Azimut Vladivostock is the worst hotel I've stayed in for a very long time, and the worst by far that I experienced during two weeks traveling across Russia from Moscow to Valdivostock. The only good things are the location, the appearance of the lobby, and the breakfast buffet food. The actual halls where the rooms are stink, the carpets are loose and torn. The rooms themselves stink and the bed mattresses feel like wooden planks - I couldn't sleep at all. The bathrooms are cramped, stinky, bug-infested and the shower gets everything in the bathroom wet. The staff is insolent at best, surly at worst - they usually will tell you "no", "so sorry", or "we can't help you", albeit with a slight smile. DO NOT STAY HERE...there are better hotels in Vladivostock. The prices they charge here certainly don't come close to justifying the level of discomfort and lack of service.

Room Tip: If you are forced at gunpoint to stay here, at least get a room on the side facing the bay, on the 5...

I am in Vladivostok for business; I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. The rooms are old, the beds are harder than a prison cell, and the TV’s are from the 1980’s. The pillow cases barely cover old dirty smelly pillows and are torn. The breakfast buffet is terrible and greasy, there is mold in the shower and on the ceilings. The hotel is undergoing EXTERIOR construction that I was never told about and I have workmen looking into my room all day long. Please see my photos.

Stayed in the hotel, the bathroom was so full of fungus in the shower, it was disgusting. The combined drain sink / shower was just a hole in the floor. The towel was not clean, brown spots. ( i doubt it was ear wax...) The carpet was stained all over, and felt sticky to walk on. No hot water.
Renovation outside my room, with scaffolding accordingly. Hammer-drilling 8 am outside my room, and a worker peeping through the window. The curtain did not cover the whole window.
No air-condition, and the separate fan did not work.

Room Tip: Stay away!!!!!

The hotel itself was not glamorous in any stretch of the imagination. For Western standards,Motel 6 would been better. The outside of the hotel looked like a war zone from Soviet movies. But the staff was very kind and helpful. The guests are mostly communist chinese who scream when they talk and love to throw trash from the hotel windows and some Armenians also looked as somber as Dracula's rejects.

Very poor hotel.
My room was 740.
All the hotel is under renewal. So lots of concrete and dust all over!!! Windows must stay closed and a lot of people are passining out of there.
There is no tub and the shower/sink water taps are connected. The drain is open and there is no air conditioner only a fan with a timer (take a little rope with you to block the timer). The carpet is not clean. The beds are like boards and the linen skimpy. Sound carries very well from room to room. The corridor has filthy carpets. broken lights and missing pictures.
So the view over the bay is great, there is a fridge (empty!) and the breakfast is good enough. There are lifts that are tiny and carry max 6-7 people.

Room Tip: High floor and bay view

The only unfriendly people in Russia trip experience.

I stayed there for 5 night for business travel show. It was supposed to be a 4 star hotel but it's more like 2 star.

The rooms were extremely small. The closets were old. Furniture were old. Everything is old and not upkeep.
I had hard time opening my door and lock myself inside the room because the locks were old and almost broke my key when I tried to open it, it give you no sense of security staying there. I paid $130/night but have to pay $3 for a pair of slipper at front desk.

It's a big hotel with over 400-500 rooms but only 2 receptionist counter. I always have to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get serviced. They don't have money exchange service, very inconvinience.

You have to negotiate with the taxi every time you use them.

The hotel has strip bar which charge you $50 to get in.

One morning I ride elevator with front office manager who wear room slipper and pajama and whom I first thought was a guest but turn out to be a manager. Such a rediculous management.

I enjoy Vladivostok but this is the only bad impression I have about this city.

Don go if You have choice.
