“Exquisite and a little bit expensive food, great service”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

I was eating out there twice with business colleagues and I was once celebrating there New Year's Eve with my family and friends. Everything was great, though it is not a very spacious place to have a proper dancing party. As for the prices, they have always been sort of elevated, not what I and my friends (we are all muscovites) would normally pay for the dinner. Drinks are particularly costly. The main thing to me was, somehow, that the place offered quite an amazing service and the staff every time showed great attention to their guests. You also can't go wrong visiting the place with a girlfriend or wife. Beside food and drinks and disco on occasion (such as New Year party), Shinok offers you a sort of museum of a Ukrainian /Sothern Russian countryside's lifestile. There you can see cows, hens etc in their "natural" invironment, looked after by "authentic" peasants and hostesses of Ukrainian /Southern Russian farms (the animals look real relaxed and cared of, not like in the Moscow Zoo)).

“Ukrainian Village Home in a Restaurant”
Reviewed May 17, 2012

This Restaurant ha a cozy Ukrainian Village home feel and the decor has been done up to match this feel. Old wooden doors, Wooden beams, crude wooden tables all add to the rustic feel.

The hotel has a great location just next to the Moscow White House. The food is decent but nothing special to speak about. The portions are good. It looks a bit cluttered because there are too many tables and it would have been great if the furniture would have been thoughtfully laid out.

The service was not all nice. No one bothering to see if you are comfortable or if there are any needs in between meals. Infact you could see the people serving the tables huddling in corners and talking endlessly which was not very professional.

All in all had a pleasant evening but not something I could talk home about

“Farm in a restaurant”
Reviewed April 23, 2012

At first you get surprised by the interior: in the middle of the restaurant there is a real farm which has chiken, a horse, a cow and a milk lady. Fine Ukrainan traditional food

“Best Ukrainian place”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

Great Urkainian food (better than in Kyiev, in my taste) -- vareniki with potatoes, blinis with meat, peas soup, beat-root salad with herring. Down all this with khrenovukha.
