I travelled with a group and the hotel was booked as part of the experience. Were I to return, I'd certainly go there again and attempt to get a room on Level 6 (VIP) which has a separate lounge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - snacks and drinks available until 10pm at night and included in the tariff.
The location is central - 10 mins on foot to the Bolshoi and other theatres in the district and not much further to Red Square. It's location, location for the Peter I.
Staff were friendly and accommodating but a tip - if you want a taxi insist that they book a city taxi rather than the drive car which is going to be about double the price. Also agree upon the price before you get into the cab, and do this everywhere in Moscow. Not to do so means you can be charged horrendous fares. I was stung twice before I learned.
Rooms are big and warm - I had a great view over the rooftops of Moscow and watched the snow falling gently - bonus!More
