“Magnificent hotel in a magnificent location”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Five minutes'walk from the Bolshoi theatre...how much better can a hotel be situated in central Moskiow? An old-fashioned (in the positive meaning of the word) stylish hotel with all the modern amenities and very well trained reception staff.
The rooms are also very comfortable and totally as they should be. The swimming pool in the basement is delicious.
Is everything perfect then? Alas no. In the first place, WIFI should be free in 2012. Now it is free in the lobby, but must be paid for in the room.
Secondly, why must the drinks be so ridiculously expensive? A 37.5 cl wine from the minibar for almost EUR 30 ... need i say more?
Lastly: we ate in the dining room of the VIP floor ... both the cooking and the service were completely inadequate.
All in all, a very good hotel - and it does not take much to make it an "excellent" hotel

The Hotel Peter 1 is Russian owned, Russian led and nothing special. But very expensive (and you have to pay even more for breakfast, even if your rate says that breakfast is included). It is ok, but you should find better options.

i have been several times to Moscow for business and besides once that i went to Holiday Inn (good hotel), Peter 1 is really one of the perfect choice if you want to be right in the heart of Moscow. only 10 min walk from Red Square, nearby some of the finest restaurant and bars.
clean large rooms, love the high ceilings.
swimming pool is a bit small but still nice.
weak points: wifi free only in the lobby, in your own room is around 17 euro for 24 hours.
eating at hotel (if you are tired from business and you don't feel like going out) is also good.
friendly personnel at reception.

I have stayed only a few days in this hotel during winter time for business purposes. It has a really good location; red square is in walking distance. I liked the furnishing of the hotel also in the rooms and in the common areas. I was really satisfied with the quality of all services maybe the staff was a bit unfriendly (did not see a smile during the 1 week period) but I think it is more because of their nationality. I think Russians are not famous about their hospitality. Overall I can strongly recommend this hotel.

I stay there on a regular basis. It is a good quality hotel; sometimes can be expensive though (depends on a season).
It is clean, modern; staff are welcoming and efficient. The swimming pool is a good addition.
Breakfast is ok; it would be great if they changed some of the dishes as the National Hotel does where you can find something new every day.

WiFi is VERY expensive, and so is the mini bad (even soft drinks).

Room Tip: ask for the court facing room - it is quite and you can open a window; not sure if you can get a fr...

Very good location but very expensive one. Everything ok besides the very strange smell in bathroom... Breakfast tasty, everything clean and spotless.
