There is no Doubt that this is a Beautifull hotel, the rooms are a great size and the batrooms amazing, however, the service is that of a three star hotel and the Breakfast is the worst I have experienced in any 3 Star + hotel in 18 years of business travel indeed some B&B's have produced much better.

The function food and dinner were much better in terms of food and Service however the Renaissance St Petersburg was much superior on both counts and only 4 Star.

The one exception was the SPA which is worth the visit and the staff are very friendly

The Ritz-Carlton has a great location on the perimeter of Red Square, just north of the National Hotel; these two will soon be joined by a large Four Seasons Hotel. Rooms on upper floors (10-11) of the south side have views onto Red Square and the Kremlin.

The room was well-furnished and typically deluxe, with well-equiped but not remarkable bathroom, flat-screen TVs, and electrically-operated drapes and lights controlled from bedside. The beds have numerous decorative pillows, enough to let the turndown service move them every night.

The club rooms are located on the two upper floors, and the club lounge itself is on the top floor; we had a stairway just across from our room (1007) that led up one floor and directly into the lounge. The lounge is one of the best I've experienced: good capacity, comfortable seating, a private terrace, and outstanding food. There was always a buffet with snacks and even entrees available, sometimes it would have been possible to have a complete evening meal there. Service was very prompt and the staff recognized us after the first night.

There were many business meetings taking place in the club lounge and its conference rooms. One night, we opened our door to armed bodyguards waiting outside a meeting that was taking place in a conference room across the hallway. I'm unsure as to who was more startled when we opened our room door.

When the club lounge was closed, there was another room with self-service packaged snacks.

The reception staff was adequate and friendly. The conceierge provided good advice and seemlessly arranged for a car to the airport. The business service desk was helpful, but I did turn down their offer to mail a 7 kg parcel to the USA for a charge of $400. But, in keeping with Moscow, everything at the Ritz-Carlton was expensive.

Overall, it was expensive, but the staff took good care of us.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel from 23/11-28/11/2009. The hotel is just a couple minutes walking to the Red Square, so we can take pictures there anytime we like - it is especially marvelous during night time! The breakfast was not a big choice, and may be not suitable to many asian people. The double room is large, with so many pillows and mirrors around! They have many things but not tea and coffee in the room, which is pity. Overally I am satisfied with the hotel, except that some staff are not very polite and slow. We have some heavy boxes with documents, but the concierge was not there to help. The hotel offers free shoe polishing between 1-6am, which is nice, but the quality of the polishing work was low.

Great location, and is by far the best hotel in town - once the Four Seasons opens across the street – I believe they will have to work harder for the
is distinction. The rooms are always immaculate and of the usual high standard you expect at a Ritz Carlton, comfy bed, fab linen & pillows, great bathroom, love the electronic light controls from bedside.
Puzzling is the unfriendly service provided by the "Ladies and Gentlemen" at the reception and restaurant in the morning when compared to the warm and helpful attitude displayed by staff in Room Service and Housekeeping.
The location is the best no matter what you are doing in Moscow....but you do pay the price!!!
