“Keeps Holiday Inn Standard”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

This hotel keeps Holiday Inn standards well, clean, friendly staff, comfort.
Location has it's good and bad. It is close to Train station, from where "Aeroexpress" to airport runs every half hour. Although this is walking distance not for all, rather if you travel with light baggage. Distance to metro stations is also rather for long walks.

Room Tip: Right now next to the hotel there is huge office building construction works, so if you want quiet d...

The Holiday Inn Lesnaya Moscow s a much better than average hotel in Moscow. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, the location is OK, the shower is nice and the breakfast really really good.
Things that are important to me while staying Moscow.
Location; I am experienced and travel by Metro, so I want a hotel near a Metro station. The Metro is not for the inexperienced or for the nearful of crowds. It can and most likely will be very crowded. I have a reputation of never getting lost, but the Metro has pushed me near the lost position more than once.
Comfort food; I really want to be able to get comfort food easily, something I can get at home American food basically.

Minor things I didn't like; the bed was comfortable, but the sheet/blanket was TOO SHORT. I had a king sized bed so I exchanged the width for the length and made it acceptable, other wise I would have changed hotels.

Room Tip: If the bedding is the same in standard bed rooms, then a King sized bed is required if you are over...

Stayed here for 5 nights in November. I travel regularly for business, and amassed enough Priority Club points for my entire stay to be free. (Otherwise it would have been on the pricey side... though Moscow is a VERY expensive city for lodging!). The front desk staff were quite friendly, and fluent in English. The hotel lobby, restaurant, and lounge always seemed to be bustling and active. The rooms were quite nice, and very clean... and definitely on the top of my list for Holiday Inn standards. Unfortunately it is located about 2 miles from Red Square, and the central tourist sites. I love walking, and didn't mind the 45 minute trek, enjoying the city and its people! Though... It is conveniently located a few blocks from the Sheremetyevo AeroExpress terminal at Belorussky Train station. And even closer to the entrance to the Belorusskya Metro station. The Metro is efficient, and safe... but the language barrier between English and Russian is immense, and can be very intimidating. You can get around on you own... just be sure to learn the Cyrillic alphabet, and touch up on as much Russian language skills as you possibly can. There is also a grocery store two blocks South. This hotel was great, and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Moscow.

Stayed for 1 night and completely disappointed with hotel and its concept. Generally when choosing brand net hotel you await some standards and small comfortable details that were implemented by management for years and tested for hundred of hotels worldwide. My concern is mostly about room usability: no plugs near bed to charge mobile phone, no plug near kettle(you have to put it on table). Slippers and robes provided only on request in standard rooms. Very plain room and bath interior, furniture and lighting are basic and old fashioned. In bathroom curtain and airfilter needed to be replaced. Generally not a 4 star hotel : cheap bath cosmetics and accessories, no in room iron facilities. Everything is subcharged: ask for 150$ for services deposit, paid wifi in room (free at lobby).
Check in was 10 min long, not very friendly, no services of the hotel were recommended by the staff.
In room you find a pile of Holiday Inn brochures that claim the hotel to be the most convenient and comfortable place in Moscow. The pages of them, by the way with spots of some liquids and hair inside. Great sample of how the idea could not match the actual state of things.
If price lower for 35% and the category positioned as 3 stars, I would say the hotel is ok.
Overall: good location (5min from Belurusskaya metro or Railway), but some building construction is made next door (at fall 2012). Cons are basic room design and poor amenities, neutral staff, no free wifi at room.

We stayed 5 nights at this Holiday Inn. The rooms were clean and nice. The dining area as stated in other reviews was overpriced and we never ate there. We had access to the Executive dining room for Breakfast and that was perfect. The Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Metro which is 3 stops(about 8 minutes) from Red Square and the Kremlin.. The staff was very friendly, and spoke some English. The management should definitely think about hiring a full time Concierge on duty for questions, and getting tickets or reservations to a restaurant.
We found that many times the reception staff between one and three people depending on the time of day, were to involved with handling new arrivals.

Room Tip: We were on the 8th floor and that was quiet and near the Ecesutive dining room

The best people of this hotel is the people working there.. All smiling and really helpful! If you know Moscow you know how difficult it is to find such qualities in this city!
Since the opening of the new office buildings nearby the area got much more pleasant with many more restaurants and cafe 2mins walking from the hotel..

Stayed here using PC points for 4 nights in August, and was upgraded to a suite.
First of all, it is hard to beat the hotel's location, very close to the Metro of Belorouskaya and therefore to virtually everywhere in Moscow. Standard is very high (especially in a tricky and complicated city as Moscow) - Rooms are spacious and very clean (although I am not a fan of Shower curtains, it was very clean).
Most staff members speak English, there is security in the lobby (you sure need that in Moscow) and service in general was very good. Has access to the executive lounge - nice continental breakfast, sodas and hot beveraged etc.

To sum it up, a very positive experience in a very tricky city. Wonderful!

Room Tip: There is construction going on at one side of the hotel. Other than that, ask for a high floor room...
