“A must see”

Revolution Square (Ploshchad Revolutsii)
Ranked #83 of 2,550 things to do in Moscow
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 23, 2014

This is iconic of Moscow, but what really struck me was the sheer size of the place and the fabulous architecture. Then when I discovered it encompassed the first Moscow, it made perfect sense. Huge, impressive, symbolic and historical, go see it!

The metro makes a couple of stops near/next to here and the metro is also quite something to see.

Born in a communist country Vietnam and learn a lot about Russia and the Xo Viet Union. It is really wonderfully feeling to visit the Red Square. The place is very impressive, but the only one thing i make me laugh is the MacDonald just right in the the area.

Really like the place then.

The buildings are works of set, gold accents and gorgeous red of red square. Russian Cossacks in uniform
In front of the museum are a reminder of days gone by in Russia. It's the place for pictures and near the famed Gum mall. Don't miss it. The gate alone is worth the trip.

Be sure to schedule a stop in the Пло́щадь Револю́ции (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) Metro station. There are many beautiful stations in Moscow, but this was my favorite. The 76 bronze sculptures, by Soviet sculptor Matvey Manizer, are stunning, larger than life depictions of simple people who are passionate about what they are doing. There is an energy and vitality about them that is very moving. Everyone rubs the noses of the dogs for luck.

This is a starting point for other attractions, but touristy but then it is the red square right...if you get there early in the morning there is no one around.
