Owner description: Moscow's Peter the Great monument definitely stands out at 322 feet of stainless steel, bronze, and copper and is housed less than a mile from the famous Kremlin wall. The monument, created by sculptor Zurab Tsereteli, depicts the Russian czar at the wheel of a ship with a document in his hands.

“Well, it's definitely big”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Don't have such a strong opinion on this one as many Moscovites do, but it truly is an interesting statue, even if for its height. On the other hand it's quite tacky and not really historically acurate. At least it provides for some interesting conversation.

“Very imposing”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

We didn't set out to find this statue but it was on our way to Gorky Park. It really can't be missed, it's gigantic and extremely imposing. I wouldn't say it is ugly like a number of other reviewers. To me it appeared very typical Russian, large, over the top and wanting to be noticed. It's certainly very striking, personally I found it rather intriguing!

“look the other way”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

I'm sorry, but this is really one of the ugliest sculptures I've ever seen. I don't think Peter would have liked it either

“Massive and fanciful.”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

The scale of this huge monument is massive out there on the river bank. And it has a Disneyesque feel rather than the bold propaganda statuary of the Stalin era. I could stare at all the detail for hours. A fun, free sight!
