“Lovely walk and changing of the guards”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

It's a beautiful park with loads of flowers and fountains and you can go for a nice little walk here. It's right next to Kremlin so it's not the peacefulest possible spot - if you're looking for that, some other parks might be more appropriate (my absolute favourite is Gorky Park). However it is really interesting to watch the changing of the guards at every full hour.

“Great view of the Kremlin wall plus fountains and statues”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Alexander is an oasis in downtown Moscow offering plenty of green space (of which the downtown area has precious little) and a fabulous view of the Kremlin wall. It's also the site of fountains with large sculptures and the two ticket booths for the Kremlin (go to booth #1 if you're lining up first thing in the morning - it has more ticket windows inside). A word of warning - much of the southern end of the gardens is under construction (as of July 9th).

“Gardens with Many Statues and Kremlin Ticket Booth at Far End”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

If you don't get off at the Alexander Garden Metro stop, which you should if you want Kremlin tickets, you will most likely have to walk through this park area to get to the ticket booths. They have many statues, benches, and water treatments. On the street side is a 3 story mall under ground attached to the metro. Perfect for shopping, eating and getting out of the sun. It is also a lot cheaper than going to the very high end GUM mall which is close by. And as everyone else has stated, the tomb if the unknown soldier is on the side closest to the Kremlin wall.

“Pretty Stroll”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

A lovely place for a fairly quiet stroll.

There are monuments and historical features around the walls of the Kremlin onto which the Garden is connected.
Changing of the guard happens here too at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

There is an underground mall with a few fast few restaurants.

A nice place to stop for a rest/lunch/drink during the summer.

“Good for a quick stop before or after the Kremlin”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Pros: Pleasant scenery. Good view of Kremlin from another angle. Easy to walk through. Benches available.

Cons: All benches are in the sun (so no shade). Currently undergoing construction at one entrance.

Summary: Nice place to walk through after or before the red square to see some greens. The entrance opposite of the red square is closed now (june) and you have to walk around to get in.
