these gardens are lovely with the fountains and flower beds in summer and after visiting the kremlin square, this is a good spot to relax and have a picnic lunch before moving on to the next sight seeing spot

After the War against Napoleon's Army Imperator Alexander 1 ordered to reconstruct area near the Kremlin which had been destroyed by fires. A new garden was created by the architect Bove for 4 years (1819-1823). Neglinnaya River flows through underground pipes.
It's nice place to relax in summer, meet with friends on weekeds, read a book lying on the grass or smth else.

The garden is quite European, I would say. In summer people (mostly youngsters) are sitting/lying on the grass. A great place to relax after a long walk! It's still beautiful in spring/winter/fall, don't miss it!

I wouldn't consider it as separate sightseeing option - just a chilling break between Red Square and Kremlin or Arbat. But even though this is nice place to be - with all fountains and planters

There a lot of benches to sit or simply grass in summer to make a picnic, also is possibility to buy some food and drinks.
