Tolstoy stayed several different places in the Moscow area. He rented this modest house in the 1880's - 1890's. Price is 200 R per person, plus 130 R if you want to take photos. You can look in on the bedrooms and walk through the drawing rooms where he entertained musicians and artists. The piano which several famous Russian composers played is on display. You can see his bicycle which he only learned to ride in his 60's. All captions are in English. There's a pleasant garden behind the house with a winding path, several benches, and soft classical music playing from speakers. It's a low-key relaxing place to visit.
