Excellent choice to explore central Moscow by foot

Review of Hotel Pushkin
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 24, 2014via mobile
We stayed for 3 nights and it was great experience! Rooms are excellent, beds are very comfortable, bathroom is big, lavish breakfast, reception staff were very helpful. Complimentary apples and water in lobby are great welcoming gesture! Organized taxi to the airport for 1600 RUB. It took only 25 min to the airport as it was 6 am on Sunday.
The only downside was that we could here the water from neighboring bathrooms, which was a bit disturbing the sleep.
They are offering great brunch deal!
All that you need is in hand!
Perfect choice!

The Pushkin Hotel is wonderfully placed, with a very slow 20 minute walk to Red Square, 15 mins to the Bolshoi and very close to Yeliseevskiy Gastronom and the Main shopping drag as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Museum of Contemporary History, Hermitage Gardens and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. There are 2 Metro stations close by and the streets are safe. Location is therefore excellent and the hotel is exceptional value for money.
The hotel is spotlessly clean, room spacious, the beds are super comfortable and the amenities are good, although if you want to watch tv in English you will have to settle for news and discussion programmes. We ate at the hotel throughout our stay and the food was cheap and excellent in quality. The service was impeccable too. I don't understand why this hotel isn't listed on the Trip Adviser Moscow App....it is really very good indeed.
My primary thanks go to the amazing receptionist who not only seemed to work tirelessly 24/7, but found time independently to organise a card and gift for my partner's 50th birthday. We were overwhelmed by this gesture and thank you unreservedly. This member of staff went above and beyond the call of duty and really enhanced our experience; he also gave us excellent advice, chatted warmly, translated and booked a cheap taxi to the airport for us.
When I return to Moscow I will book the hotel Pushkin without a moment's thought and I would recommend others to do so too - brilliant experience.

The Pushkin hotel is in a good location, it's about a 20 minute walk to red square, the hotel is down a side street, just off Tverskaya street and from there it's a straight walk to red square.also there is 3 different metro lines within a couple so minutes walk.
The hotel was extremely clean, our room (214) was large enough, and quiet, there was always free bottles of drinking water provided in the room as well as tea and coffee making things , but you have to get your hot water from the dispenser in the corridor outside your room.
There was always plenty of good choice for breakfast and items had the names printed in English.
Although the reception staff spoke English and were very efficient, what they lacked was a smile and friendly welcoming ( but then again a lot of Russians have this way about them).
Just over the road there is a cheap and friendly bar, were the staff always made us welcome.

In a very expensive city this is a reasonably priced hotel in the city centre. A few minutes walk to a major metro station and 10 minutes walk to red square. The beds were very comfy. Bathroom was tiny but it's what you would expect for a hotel of this standard. This is not a fancy hotel by any means but it it is very clean and well kept and was very comfortable for a 4 night stay. If you want convenience for a good price then this would suit.

Stayed here for a week on business. The rooms are clean and fairly spacious, showing only a little bit of wear. The air conditioning works very well, though there is not sufficient clothes storage. There are a fair number of breakfast choices--something for pretty much everyone. Plus the breakfast is generally available 6a to 10a.

Oddly, the hotel is not very easy to spot from the road (look for the "otel" sign). Plus finding the hotel web site seems to be nearly impossible. It is http://otel-pushkin.ru/

A weight room would move this hotel into a 4-star rating for me. The hotel is close to the metro, several shops, and reasonably close to the Kremlin and Red Square.

A twenty minute walk from Red Square and within a short distance of three metro stations mean this an excellent base to navigate Moscow from if a little tricky to locate in the first instance and we were grateful for a helpfu local's directions when we arrived. For the location the prices were good value including a buffet breakfast and the recently opened basement restaurant has a good selection of local dishes.
