A private hotel, not part of any chain. sometimes a bit of strange place but certainly clean and very well located - express train to the airport is just few steps away.
Breakfast is lousy, one is better off having a coffee at Sturbucks across the street, right in front of the white church

Just as previous reviewers said, it is not an easy place to find. One may wonder why would a "Grand Hotel" try to maintain such a low profile and poor visibility? Basically the name "Grand Hotel" is quite an exaggeration - it is a typical new Russian 3- stars hotel located in a B-class shopping mall called "Gallery".
+ close to Belarus railway station from where you have commuter train to Sheremetyevo airport
+ the rooms are all plastic in some weird kitsch design but basically clean and comfortable
+ friendly girl at the reception
- the breakfast was poor to terrible
- in my understanding the joint is not worth its name and price

It was very difficult to locate at first as the entrance wasnt well signed and it was at the 1st floor of a building. But the room was very comfortable and the breakfast more than adequate. For the price that we paid was good value, since the hotels in Moscow are mostly overprized for what they offer. It was a plus that it is near the metro station.

At the outset, I will say that this was by no means a horrible lodging experience. The room was clean, temperature-controlled, and well maintained. We stayed in a superior double room with a queen size bed. It is advertised as 215 sq. feet on booking.com. Not even close. It is possibly 150 sq. feet including the bathroom, which is also small but clean and modern.

I'm guessing that it is called the Gallery Grand because the hallways and wall over the bed are adorned with cheesy replicas of Renaissance works. If the hotel weren't trying to take itself seriously, it would seem kitschy but it's just kind of sad. This really speaks to the negative aspects of the hotel -- it gets low marks for presentation and having no inviting quality for visitors.

First of all, it's very difficult to find. While it is a short 5-7 minute walk from Belorussky station (over some treacherous sidewalks under construction in the early weeks of September 2012), the hotel itself is not visible from the main street. It's located inside a larger building on something of a side street. If I weren't with a Russian speaker at the time, I may never have found it. It was confusing to her too. When you enter the building, you walk into a weirdly vacant white tiled space that leads to a really pathetic nightclub called The Runway off to the right, to an escalator 20 meters ahead, or to doorway on the left, leading to an elevator. A sign in Russian indicates that the hotel is in the building, though not where exactly. When you get to the check-in on the 2nd floor, it almost looks like an outlet store inside a mall. Also, the elevator is totally unreliable. We usually had to wait more than 5 minutes to go up or down. One time I discovered that it was being held indefinitely for the housecleaning staff to load towels and supplies into it since there is no separate freight elevator for them to use.

On the positive side, the hotel does have a nice dining room near the check-in area for complimentary breakfast, which was pretty good -- pancakes, eggs, potatoes, cold cuts, juices, etc. The people at the front desk do not speak much English so be prepared to know a little Russian or communicate with a print-out of your reservation. They were very pleasant though and their price matched the one from my online receipt.

I give the Gallery Grand 3 stars because the lodging conditions were acceptable and comfortable. However, it's not in an interesting location at all, just close to trains. And again, it's difficult to find, even once you're INSIDE the actual building. I believe it is rated a 4 star hotel, but that's just not the case. It is well maintained but overall mediocre at best.
