“Much better than Waterloo”
Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

Well preserved, bright and spacious recollection of the war with Napoleon as far as Russia is concerned. Excellent condition of the exhibits, panorama and logic of the presentation. Guides are well prepared and convey the message in an interesting way, engaging the audience and answering your questions.
A few points to consider: place is not equipped for handicapped nor for baby carriers. Please mind that you can view it on your own only after 15:00, before that you should buy the entrance with a guide. And, yes, the pictures can be taken at an extra 3.5 Euro charge.
Just visited Waterloo panorama 2 months ago, it requires much investment to maintain it as Russians do!

Dear Guest, thank you for visiting our museum.
It's known that these days Belgium is preparing for the bicentenary of the Watreloo battle. And up to 2015 the Waterloo panorama will be presented in a renewed restored way.

“The panorama Scene is impressive”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

The canvas representing the battle is quite impressive, it gives a feel as if in a real battlefield. Lots of information about the scene ana the figures there. The corridors are filled with paintings of comanders and battles as well. The hall with the uniforms of the rusian and french army is also interesting. If you are a panorama lover, pay a visit to that one in Pleven, Bulgaria. Quite tha same, but representing the battle with the Ottoman empire.

Dear guest,
Thank you for high appraisal of our Museum-panorama. There is one fact about the Pleven panorama and the Borodino panorama that makes them related.
The Borodino panorama was extensively restored by the soviet painters of the Military Studio named after M.Grekov in 1960-s. Later in 1970-s painters of this Studio were invited to create the Pleven Epopee in Bulgaria.
Thanks again, and we hope to see you again soon.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

A splendid panaromic view of the battle between Russia and Napoleon’s Grand Army in 1812. Take your time and digest the 115m wide and 15m high canvas which merges with articles and objects in the foreground to bring the scene to life. Definitely the highligh but many other exhibits describing the history of the battle.

Besides the Borodino panorama our museum brings forward an updated museum exposition dedicating to the 200-th anniversary of Russian victory in Napoleon campaign. The exposition consists of 2 halls. The dominating idea of the exposition is ‘man and war’. The unique exhibits of the 1812 epoch such as personal things belonged to Russian Commander-in-Chief general Mikhail Kutuzov are on display at first time. The public are invited to see more than 400 rarities from the museum collection including battle paintings, portraits of heroes, arms, uniforms of Russian and French armies are arranged under the new decorative design.
Dear guest, we hope to see you again!
