This was the best stop we made in Moscow. Went to it by boat from Gorky Park then took the metro from Kievskaya to Park Pobedy. It was a nice trip, especially when you get out of the metro station and you see the extra large space in front of you. The grandeur of the location is something you won't be seing just anywhere. The musuem was also good with the very few English descriptions. The dioramas were nice, we had a tour guide who explained the scenes. The souvenir shop has a good collection as well with genuine WW2 items like soviet army hats.

I went there right before 9th of May, the museum is huge and has a lot to see and explore. At the end of the excurtion you have this special feeling of the war times.

It's large and much thought has been put to remember all who perised in the WWII. It is a breathtaking site that will most definitely impress you. If you want to learn more about the part of the war that took place on the eastern front, this is a good place to do so.

There aren't that many artifacts here but the somber tone of the war is on display. On the upper level there is a hall honoring the Heroes of the Soviet Union and on the lower level there is a room honoring all the Russians who died in the Great Patriotic War. There is a beautiful park to walk around outside the museum and a very photogenic arch. As a plus, the escalator in the metro station is one of the longest in the world.

Visited here on advice of local and we were all very impressed with the layout, order and professionalism of museum. Shop selling guns and replica bullets etc will take your breath away. Other amazing sights include tanks etc museum nearby (boys liked that) an the most stunning, extraordinary sculpture I've ever seen - a memorial to the Holocaust. Quite devastating and beautiful. So glad we got here.
