One of my favorite places in Moscow!

I had the pleasure of watching "Swan lake", "Hamlet" ballet performances, "The Queen of Spades" and "Traviata" opera performances. All of them were great.

Definitely must-see and must-experience!

Today, 10 Sep 2016, we went to the Theatre around 10 am to do the English tour. The meeting point was door number 12. We were the first ones, soon there were another 15 people queuing behind us. After an hour standing, my wife saw a small written notification in a window a couple of meters from the door, saying that the English tours has been cancelled from July to middle of September.
The reason I'm giving this rating is because their website doesn't say anything about this cancellation. I would suggest that you personally check on a different day if you are coming during the period July - September.

The Bolshoi is universally recognized as "If not THE BEST, one of the best Ballet companies in the World." Being there and watching them perform was an unforgettable experience. The orchestra, the production, the performers, the theatre, everything was amazing! DO NOT MISS IT! Buy your tickets online from their official website, as soon as you can. There's an option to have the page in English. The icon is on the top right of the page. You'll have to create an account with your email address, but it works fine. Print the tickets and bring them with you.
The prices are cheap compared to the prices paid in the USA for a production like that. My husband and I were there in June 2016. I bought our seats online 2 months before our trip, on their website for about U$60.00 each, for orchestra level seats (in the back). Do NOT buy from other sites, they will charge you five times more. Do not wait to buy it there. Depending on the season it will be sold out, and they do not speak english at the box office. Pretty hard to get information The price is the same as buying online, as long as you do it from the official website.

A beautiful place to visit. Unfortunately no performance during moist. Missed a golden opportunity. Still enjoyed the facade and exterior building.
