Owner description: Two great monuments to the past are the Tsar Cannon, the largest cannon in the world, located right outside Cathedral Square, and the 200-ton Tsar Bell, which was silenced by fire and now sits at the foot of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower.

The Tsar's gun and bell are impressive for there size, but that's about it. I would guess the best thing for them is to provide a backdrop for tourist photos.

These are behind buildings so be careful you don't miss seeing them. You get another view of the grand buildings too with a few trees to add to the picture.
The large Tzar's Bell had been dropped while trying to place in the bell tower so was cracked and had a chunk that had fallen out. A rather sad sight and made one realise just how large these bells are so getting them to where they belong is no easy feat.
The Tzar's Cannon is one of many seen in the general area so we have many photos.

Nice and impressive objects placed inside of Kremlin....they have never been really used. The whole Kremlin territory is reconstucted and kept in a very good shape, clean and tidy. I liked to imagine the different times and different people who shaped this territory.

Sure you might argue it's just a huge cannon and a huge bell, and they are, but a guide will give you all the backgound history of both. The cannon is purely ornamental, but it makes for some imaginative stories. The bell on the other hand is the real thing....can't imagine pulling the rope to make it chime!

A bell too big to ring and a cannon that can't be fired or loaded.

If you're in the Krelmin you just have to see these with your own eyes to be shocked by their size.
