Owner description: Moscow's most famous historical and political landmark, the Kremlin is a walled-in complex of cathedrals, palaces and government offices, with several buildings open to the public, including the Armoury, Patriarch's Palace and the State Kremlin Palace.

The buildings within the Kremlin walls are stunning, the cathedrals are wonderfully decorated and in good state of preservation.

Even though the lines were long, first lining up for ticket purchase, then in line to get into the Kremlin and then another line to get into the Armoury..

The Armoury is not that big, but when you are inside there is a lot to see, spanning from royal dresses, horse cartridges, gold and silver, Fabergé eggs, weapons and amors off course..

Even for my four smaller kids (5-9 yrs) it was a great experience...

So cool. A few things those. To get into the Armory Museum where the Faberge eggs are only allows people in every 2 hours, so we went at 9:30 am to get tickets for the 10:00 am. You have to pay to get in with rubles, and this one takes credit cards. This is a Must museum to go to. Get the audio, well worth it.
Also, if you go to the churches inside the Kremlin, they do not have audio, but they have information in each language to understand what you are seeing. I think it would be best to have a tour guide with you. We didn't and I think it was a mistake.

The Kremlin is every bit as interesting as I expected it to be. Plenty of churches and cathedrals to see, interesting architecture. I think that one little known event is the noon Presidential Guard Ceremony. Apparently a Putin-inspired event, it is a half hour or so ceremony with a company of the Presidential Guard with a mounted troop, Both perform an impressive display of the manual at arms with music from full band. If you like this sort of thing, don't miss it. Its scheduling seems to be a bit irregular and I'm not sure how one learns when it will take place. Do as I did and do your Kremlin tour around noon on Saturday and if you're lucky you will get a show that is hard to find anywhere.
