“Old Arbat - Average but nice coffee shops”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Old Arbat is a pedestrian street filled with stalls, fast food restaurants, some good coffee shops and the occasional souvenir stall. It's usually very busy with many locals and tourists but overall I wouldn't go out of your way to visit

“Shoddy”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

This street is basically a building site with expensive bars and restaurants (with a few exceptions).
Fun can be had on special days here, but you do get a lot of people hassling you.

“Pretty good”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

My wife and me were at the Old Arbat at the very beginning of september. It was on monday morning and there were not so many people. Old Arbat is a good street where you can walk without problems and make shopping of russian souvenirs. There are many kind of Matryoshka and chessboards. In this time there are also many things on sale that you can buy. Walking along Old Arbat you can arrive at the Red Square.

(This is not a picture of Stary Arbat). Just a pedestrian street with some kitsch souvenirs. It used to be a place of some good strret music, but now it's really rare to hear something descent
