“Tranquil setting”

We visited with a guide, but visiting on your own will also be good, you may then have more time to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It is a truly beautiful cemetery.

“Very impressive, felt sorry I could not read russian”

Ended up here by coincidence… and then stayed for more than two hours. An absolutely impressive site for the hobby photographer, so many details to discover. My personal No. 1 in Moscow.

“Like a sculpture gallery!”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 via mobile

This visit was a very pleasant surprise. We were taken here by a private guide, and were expecting a boring cemetery with some famous graves, but the tombstones here are totally amazing. Such elaborate sculpture paying tribute to composers like Shostakivich, authors like Chekov, politicians like Kruschev and Yeltsin, are found among lesser known but prominent people's graves. A guided commentary definitely makes it more meaningful

Many prominent Russians, including Khruschev, Yeltsin, Raisa Gorbachev. Peaceful and not too crowded.
