This was a museum I use to go to, when I was a child and now, so many years later, I came back to Moscow and it was a must visit place on my list. I have to say, that I appreciate it even more now. It has an outstanding collection of Russian art school painters from around 18th to 20th century. It took me 4 hours to see the gallery and even that was not enough. Of course, you could spend as much time as you desire or your schedule permits. They have an audio guide available and it could be very handy for you to understand a meaning of some paintings. i am not a fun of taking pictures inside an art galleries. I think, it distracts you from enjoing whole visit experience.
They have a small store on the ground floor, so you can pick up some postcards, bookmarks, posters, puzzles, books ,etc. There is a wardrobe service (free of charge).
So, if you are a painting fan or just want to introduce yourself to the Russian painting school, "Tretyakov Gallery" is must, must, must to see.
