“Excellent well managed property!”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

From the minute we walked in the door to this Grand Hotel the staff exceeded our expectations! The front desk was extremely attentive and did not rush you through the process, gave us all kinds of tips on where to go where to eat which turned out to be the key! We were treated to a beautiful corner suite on the 19th floor overlooking the city! The manager Konstantin greeted us the first night for a small cocktail party and we met most of the staff. The executive lounge had great appetizers, champagne, wine etc.. and well staffed. Breakfast downstairs was amazing. All in all it was a wonderful stay and once again we thank-you for making the last leg of our journey so memorable!

We recently stayed at this property for 10 days. Due to my husband's Diamond VIP status we were upgraded to a junior suite which was very spacious. The hotel itself is a beautiful, historic building. The executive lounge was great with drinks, appetizers, soup and entrees every evening. This was dinner for us many nights. The lounge near the lobby was the only place we could get free Wifi and drinks there were very expensive ($30 for a glass of white wine). We found the hotel staff to be very personable and helpful. Overall it was a great stay.

Traveling on business around the globe, I usually stay at hilton properties. I am not impressed with Hilton in Moscow. Will be specific:
Service - acceptable. The majority of hotel employees do their required minimum, but don't bother for more.
Room - size is small even though I was upgraded with my super Diamond status. The furniture is basic hilton type. The bed had a hard mattress. The hotel was helpful and provided a softer mattress top.
Lounge - OK and has bare minimum. Since I would come later from the office, everything was gone and not replenished. Just to mentioned, there are no restaurants close to the hotel.
Elevators - SLOW (all 4)
Hotel decor - the hotel is located in a historical building which is cool. But, I wish, the hotel management would deliver the history inside. The carpet is old and has ugly color. Wood trimming around the rooms doors is fake and doesn't look good at all.
Breakfast - ok which is common for other Moscow hotels.
Noise outside of the hotel - I don't care for a noise, but keep in mind that it is located by 3 major train stations. It could be loud.
Location - that is a tough one. The hotel is located by 3 major train stations and metro stop. It is convenient if you need to take a train and hop on a metro. But, there are a lot of homeless and criminals who dwell at these train stations. Being female traveling alone, I didn't feel safe at all.

Make it short, the hotel has all required minimum things, but I would not consider staying there again.

Room Tip: Have a higher hhonors status to get upgraded. Ask for rooms that don't face train stations.

the hotel is one of the historic Stalin structures of Moscow...thats what excited us to stay here....it was a complete disappointment. The Lobby is quite well done....it serves as a restaurant too...The reception was the most unwelcoming one ever! Everyone had an attitude which we failed to understand! Really disliked it! We had 3 rooms booked, and were given in all floors possible! They said we should have informed earlier! If you are travelling together, woudnt you want to stay close by?? Anyways...barring the lobby, all other floors are a complete disappointment, there is hardly any decor and whatever little is there looks dated....the room is decent size with huge bathroom...with all a Hotel room of this standard should have...no complaints about the room at all!

The swimming pool area is very strangely located...to go there..you have to cross the lobby-cum-restaurant...so you might be dripping with wet hair while people are having dinners...very uncomfortable situation!!

the lift to the rooms and the reception have few stairs in between....so while we were lugging our suitcases...no one came up to help us...I definitely expect better service! And let me tell you it was not as if no one saw us..there was enough staff around...

The hotel location has nothing to offer...metro is about 10 min walk..which is not bad...but in the night it is a bit deserted...and we did not feel very comfortable while walking back.....

In the same trip we stayed in Mercure Arbat, and what a splendid service we got there!! Friendly staff! Our stay was perfect! I will recommend mercure arbat to anyone who goes to Moscow, excellent location and service!

If we had only stayed in Hilton in the moscow trip, our image/experience of Moscow would have been very different. Luckily our trip was split and our stay in Mercure Arbat made our trip the most memorable one!

Stayed one night on a business trip. Hotel is what you can expect of a high end hotel, rooms are spacious, and top floors have great views of the city. What adds to the experience is the fact that the hotel is situated in one of Stalin's "Seven Sisters", impressive architecture.

Location wise, it's ok, a short ride by taxi o metro to the city centre, but there is nothing interesting around the hotel, the room was clean and nice, the friendly receptionist gave us a comp upgrade with nice views, the staff were mostly friendly, the breakfast was ok, just like that, nothing special, the building is beautiful, but it lacks of a bit if ja ne se quais, overall ok but not much to say.

Hotel is very good, nice staff, good breakfast, perfect location and fine old-style lobby. The only dissapointment was the way from the underground station - it's very noisy and dirty - but it's Russia :)
